The Toronto Maple Leafs have traded veteran defenceman and captain Dion Phaneuf to the Ottawa Senators in a nine player deal.

Along with Phaneuf, the Leafs send forwards Matt Frattin, Casey Bailey, Ryan Rupert and defence prospect Cody Donaghey to the Senators in exchange for defenceman Jared Cowen, forwards Colin Greening, Milan Michalek and Tobias Lindberg as well as Ottawa’s second-round pick in the 2017 NHL Draft.

No salary will be retained by either team over the trade’s entirety.

Phaneuf, 30, has three goals and 24 points assists in 51 games with the Leafs this season.

He has five years remaining on a seven-year contract he signed two seasons ago worth an average annual value of $7 million.

Originally selected ninth overall by the Calgary Flames in 2003, Phaneuf has scored 120 goals and 424 points in 801 career games with the Flames and Maple Leafs.

Toronto acquired Phaneuf from Calgary in a seven-player blockbuster in January of 2010 and he was named the 18th captain in franchise history prior to the 2010-11 season.

Conversations with Uber drivers are often strange, awkward, yet kind of very entertaining. Whether the topic is life, sports or politics, everyone’s had a heart to heart with their Uber driver at least once. Well this Uber driver has one story in his back pocket that you’ll surely never forget, and it’s about Chicago Blackhawks goalie Scott Darling.

The story was posted by Kane Van Gate, who met this Uber driver and heard the amazing story of what a great human being Scott Darling is.

  5. I wish I could use an extension cord but just not possible.

I was thinking of making a convenient dual battery tray holder to haul them out when needed. The above battery connector sounds great but wondering if a dual bank charger requires the batteries UN-connected from each other when charging? Everyone says go with a 3 bank but my "boat" battery basically just gets a charge in the spring.

Another battery question... Re-charge after every 4 hr outing or wait till they are almost dead.

I noticed Minn Kota has several brackets including the mk-32 which has a cover? Is the mk-32 the only Terrova lockable unit?

Also noticed some front door adjustment will be needed on the boat for the Terrova to function properly and keep front waves out.

Can you guys tell I'm getting excited about the Terrova? I'm the only guy on this whole forum smiling about no ice on the lakes... Spring can't come soon enough!

    Recharge after every outing.

This will extend the life of your batteries by a lot.

The quick release MK 52/62, MK 42, MK 32, MKA 16-02 all have the ability to use a lock on them.

  6. Last summer I posted a deal from the guys @ Salt Armour for buffs to keep the sun off yer face.

We the boys @ SA now have some winter ones for us winter guys.

These are fleece lined and are wind proof as well.

  7. 1/ Should be good @ 15' with 6 gauge wiring.

2/ Best quick connectors for your application are: http://www.amazon.com/X-Haibei-Battery-Connector-Connect-Disconnect/dp/B00KXKW708/ref=pd_sim_263_6?ie=UTF8&dpID=51ez0bQdzeL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&refRID=0JN9Z7JPKENAHZJM48MH

3/ The Minn Kota quick release plates have a spot for a lock and if I remember correctly you can use one of these trailer locks on them.

Report: Lake Ice Grows Safer To Venture Out On With Each Beer Consumed

    960.jpg

MINNEAPOLIS—According to a report released Monday by researchers at the University of Minnesota, the layer of ice atop frozen lakes grows incrementally thicker and safer to venture out onto with each beer that an individual consumes. “While the surface ice covering a lake may pose a very real hazard of collapsing under the weight of a sober subject, we discovered that this same ice becomes progressively more sturdy with each 12-ounce can of beer that a subject puts back,” said lead researcher Robert Piper, noting that the ice sheets atop lakes, as well as large ponds and certain rivers, could be rendered virtually impervious to cracking beneath a fully grown man provided he has consumed four or more tallboys, regardless of temperature or weather conditions. “Our data clearly show that by collectively finishing a 24-pack of Keystone, Budweiser, or similar American-style lager, ice becomes so safe and stable that a whole group of buddies can walk out onto the lake as far as they want. In fact, you can go ahead and drive a fully loaded truck right on out there, no problem, as long as you and the boys drain a pony keg and the last of the Jack.” Piper went on to confirm that, even in the highly improbable event that someone who has drunk a sufficient number of beers does happen to fall through the ice, the consumption of such beverages simultaneously heats the frigid subsurface lake water to a temperature at which one can be fully immersed for minutes at a time without any risk of hypothermia.
