  1. To me the issue is when is enough heat...enough? Closing a thread signals that point has been reached. I would have had no problem if the original thread had been left open. He was starting to defend his position. Opening a new thread and starting this all over again just looks to get even uglier.

  2. Theres and old saying,"If you can't take the heat stay out of the kitchen"

So let me get this straight. A mod closes the last thread on this one taking a parting shot. A second thread is opened on so everyone can take another kick at the can and now a new mod sees nothing wrong with this sort of behaviour? This is starting to just get plain ugly.
  3. I bought a cheap $50 combo after my house fire (lost all my fishing stuff)I still use the rod with a 4000 stradic for chucking spinnerbaits for pike and as a trunk rod (my only 2 peice rod)it's a decent rod stands up to alot of abuse but Def not for finesse fishing not real sensitive .I hear the down rigging rods are not to bad. most guys will say no way but I dont mind it.

Yeah...forgot about my ugly stick leadcore rod. Big and bendy and has held up to a lot of abuse. Set the drag on stun!!

  4. Destiny vrs Destiny...one myth will disappear. Chicago must be licking their chops thinking about what is coming from the east. No more prima donnas from hear on in. These teams are hunnnnGRY.

  5. ...we are going to have to win the Cup this year to shut you up...then again if we are fortunate enough to bring home number 25 you would probably still have something stupid to say!!!

No, winning the cup is an accomplishment that that no one can dispute and everyone remembers. Montreal has vastly exceeded expectations this year and that is something Montreal fans can be proud of. I also think Montreal has some really good players. I really like Mike Cammalleri. Not only is he a great hockey player...he doesn't overstate his accomplishments. A simple nod of the head after a goal, that is a class hockey player. Hab fans could learn from him. No need for street "celebrations" after winning a series. We don't need five simultaneous hab threads on an Ontario fishing forum. Every habs fan doesn't have to wear their sweater all day long today.

I was talking to a friend about this and I liked his observation. He said that hab fans are like Peacocks. That sums it up perfectly. If hab fans want to make a point of displaying their plumage every chance they get, if a group has a chip on their collective shoulder....well it's just natural that people want to knock it off. :)

  6. Two more periods just like that would be fine!!! :thumbsup_anim:

    But it is!!! :tease::tease::tease::tease::tease:

crow.jpgHoping there will be a lot more eating crow happening TO-nighhhhtttt!!! :thumbsup_anim: GGGGGOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLL. And again...GOOOOAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

  7. They just might even be fun to stalk on the fly......what was that I read one time about carp being fresh water bonefish??

They could be a darn lot of fun a little later in the season when they are not jumping around all over the place. That early summer lazy indifference part of the season, that would be a fine time to make an offering that just looks a little too good!
  8. People are getting their knickers in a knot about eating small bullhead from a trib. I wouldn't worry with a weekly meal. Those of you eating those large chinook out of lake ontario have a heck of a lot more to worry about.

  9. Out of the spirit of generosity to a hopeless hab fan, I sat with my brother-in-law comforting his nerves during period 2 and 3 as he squealed in a high pitched voice how the Americans had control over the refs. Typical...typical...what can you do with such irrational people? The habs win when I watch at his house. He was a habby fanboy tonight and I smiled as he cried and pranced around the room when the final buzzer went. Are all hab fans like this?

  10. Maybe the whole psychology of the hab fan is another thing that spurs me on. I've often noticed Hab fans relish every opportunity they have to rub it in with leaf fans. I suspect that back in the 70's or in the 90's, when Montreal won cups, many of our habs fans on this forum were little habby fans rooting for a winner instead of showing loyalty to an Ontario team. Just like it was way too easy to become a Yankee fan or Cowboys fan in different eras of time. That was okay before the internet where the odd hab fan at work wasn't so overly annoying. But with the internet you got annoying squared, no annoying cubed. So I'm speaking for all the long suffering leaf fans. If your a hab fan and live in Ontario, take your small victories and relish them in isolation. If you want to have an internet parade every time your team accomplishes something don't be wondering why others on an ONTARIO forum might not be giving it right back at ya!! :clapping:

Montreal has been hobbled. It's not looking good! :stretcher:

  11. My bet is... Scuro will keep bashing and ranting about the Habs team that out performs his Leafs, now, then and as always. While John will continue to praise this Habs team in hopes of finding some sort of awkward way to restore faith in his Leafs. (I do like that approach a little better John. lol... creative and supportive)

Make it easier on yourselves dooooooooooooooooods and just accept you've been beaten again, and switch to the team that as always given their fans more that just head and heartaches.

I have a brother-in-law who is a major habs fan and watches every leaf game in the hope that they lose. I have no greater interest in the leafs than any of the other Toronto teams, I've just learned to dislike Montreal and I come by it honestly. :) Besides if the hab fans are going to get all full of themselves about beating Washington like they won the Stanely cup and all, consider me like valve that deflates some of the air in their swollen heads!

And how about my observation about Montreal on my last post...Halik being the beginning and end of the story because Montreal has so little fire power? Wasn't that bang on in game 5? No goal until the 19th minute of the third when Montreal had a 6 on 4. It ain't bashing if it's true. :P

  12. "Let's hear it for the Habs!!!"

I hope tonight's game is better than the last one.

That was about as "sweet" a Hab victory as you are going to see. Have they won by more then one in the playoffs when the extra goals were not empty netters? What are you expecting, a hab blowout? :rofl2::tease::rofl2: This is the team of boring. Boring doesn't dominate.
  13. You liked my last one. Great I cleaned it up and got more specific. ENJOY!!

Lots of whine on this forum with the hab fans. Yes there were bad calls...both ways. The problem with Montreal fans is that they are irrational and can't judge with any objectivity. They think there is an American conspiracy between Betman and the refs :rofl2: . Nor can they see that their team is a hack 8th place finisher who got into the playoffs not by beating the leafs but by other teams getting eliminated. The only thing you need to know about Montreal's shocking playoff run is the name Halik. He is the beginning the middle and the end of this story.

This Jersey style of play might work for Montreal...trap, plus grab, plus super awesome goal tending. Now Hab fans shouldn't complain about boring hockey because that is the only style of hockey Montreal can win. They tried open hockey in game one and got smoked. Now they are afraid to play an open game until they have a lead. Like the old Jersey teams the trap works better when the other team is desperate and pinches their defence men. Only problem is that Montreal isn't NJ and has few skilled players. They can't rely on Pittsburg to score another game winning goal like last night! :)

Finally, we are in a different era and Crosby has a right to be upset with daily mugging he gets from Gil. The Montreal fanboys should stop whining about those justified calls from the refs. The rules changed to allow for more athletic skill and less clutch and grab. What Pittsburg should do now is take advantage of lack of interference calls. Pittsburg should do a Chicago and crash the net. Once Halik is off his game Montreal would have NO legs to stand on.
