To all that own a talon, where did you all buy them and how has your experience with them been? I'm currently shopping around for 1 and want to consult my fellow OFNers to see options and opinions.

Any updated info on the ice and water level on dalrymple? I would like to get out there this weekend but don't want to drive over 1 hour and not be able to get out.

Anyone know how dalrymple is looking? I love getting out there for early season pike so I'm curious as to how long until we have open water.

The Yum F2 money craw in crawdad has been a workhorse for me. Although they don't look all that special they have great movement when falling.

I think it's fantastic seeing all these different bass anglers and how different everyone's answers are. I guess it's all about comfort/confidence. Thanks to everyone that has posted so far. I look forward to reading more.

My wife not only knows about all of my rods but encourages me to get fishing stuff. There are a lot worse things in the world a guy could be spending time/money on.

Okay, the topic says it all. For you bass guys out there. If you were only able to have 6 rod setups on the boat what would you use? I'm currently in the process of putting together my 6th bass setup. When it is done this will be my 6. 1) bait caster, 7'mh, (crank baits) 2) bait caster, 7'6 h, (flipping stick) 3) spinning, 7'm, (worm) 4) spinning, 7'mh, (jerk bait) 5) spinning, 7m (drop shot) 6) bait cater,?? (Spinnerbaits)

You all think a two year olds can pick up on a spinning reel? I would love to get my two year old out fishing at the local pond but wasn't sure how she would make out casting.

Does anyone know the condition of lake Dalrymple? I'd like to go wash some lures this weekend but don't want to waste my time driving there to find ice blocking me. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the info. I tried to get out to the deep water last Sunday morning but the wind was fairly heavy so I stuck to cooks bay.

Hahaha good attempt to mislead us. This is my first year putting in a solid effort on simcoe and so far it has not been worth it. I really hope that this fall turns things around for me.

After a tough year on simcoe i'm just wondering if the smallies are back to being somewhat predictable yet? All year I was having a difficult time locating them due to the extreme temperatures. I'd love to hear from all of you simcoe experts.

Well we caught all kinds of fish. I think I caught almost every species in the lake. Nothing too big but it was entertaining. Thanks for all the tips.

I'm heading to Ahmic this week to try my hand at some bass fishing. I'll be launching in Magnetawan. I'm wondering what the bass are doing up in that area? I know on simcoe they are deep. Any tidbits of information will be greatly appreciated. If I catch anything worth talking about I'll post a report when I get back.
