G, for your first question, yes the tag must be affixed on the animal as soon as it's shot down, if the animal stays put. Second, the guts will not spoil the meat unless it overheats, must be gutted as soon as possible Third, the only canivores that I would worry is the wolfes, coyotes and ravens / crows Temps are dipping into the minus..... don't have to worry about the meat being spoiled. rickster, when you shot it, did you notice the animal doing a funny move? were you able to locate any blood trail from the location you shot him? Hope you find it cause this is a trophy buck Jacques

Thanks jwl..... It's a lot of work once you chop it off the head and I'm sure that the ravens did a good job at picking the bones.... You should see the grey jay birds going for the pieces of fat once the deer is hung up on the tree Thanks agian jwl much appreciated

Thanks HearingFish.... it's really a beautiful sport and in need a lot of patience not only for shooting it but also figuring out what to do after the animal been shot, registered, tagged and brought back from the hunt. I just enjoy working on my trophy and extremely happy about the outcome Thanks again
