has anybody have info on this lake on the fall for the musky hunt? i'm planning to hit this place on the fall but i am going to be focusing on the river mouth @ the moira river or the river itself close to the lake.i've heard good stories about this place about the muskies . i personally fish the moira river mainly at the thomasburg area and the last few years havent been that breat...maybe it's the timing that i go there but in the past i used to get lots of pike when i go there and i even caught a good muskie there for the first time, it was amazing-now i know why people say muskies fight a lot more than pike. yeah so any info on where to start the hunt or maybe a marina that rents a boat or a kayak will be much appreciated. i'm not looking for your honeyholes but some tips would be nice, thanks in advance

they have been trying to get rid of the pike in that lake but they thrive there for some reason...they were introduced to the creditriver by accident and they do a number on the trout and bass populations. they are actually letting people take their limits to kinda curb the populations. i love fishing pike...they don't quite fight like buckets but they are fun to catch

hey evster looks like you did better than me...hmmmm. what i got are midgets compared to yours. he he

they flash your dreams in front of you and make you think you can achieve it without "hard work " and effort all you have to do is call. i have been scammed to having a fellow over to have a financial analysis and i told him flat out no. i started getting suspicious when he started asking specific question about who i invest and bank with and stuff. one tip , if you join-- you will loose a lot of your friends and most likely family as well.

oh don't worry i fished for a few years now and i have questioned my sanity a couple of times...i dunno how many solo trips have i gone with no fish ,some good and times got people interested fiching so ... there you go...just gotta try not to break the bank

i have heard and read good things about lake stoco...has any of you fished there? i caught my first musky off the moira river and i think it feeds partially from the stoco and the moira lake as well.

thanks for the word of caution, advice and tips as to where to go and start up.i heard lots of good stories from the kawarthas. i will however look into those places you guys mentioned at the bay. i was actually looking towards rivers feeding off the georgean bay...good pont about how the bay turns quickly...i guess they don't have all those shipwrecks under there for nothing. so in the fall is it worth going to the rivers feeding off the georgian bay to hunt them muskies? i love that area very nice drive and clean waters and all ....i am willing to rent a boat and fishfrom shore as well. once again thanks for the tips guys tight lines

i think anything you've never tasted bef tastes like chicken. i would not kill them either one their protected and 2 they wont bite you if you leave em alone. seen one of these at cyprus lake provincial park at tobermory years back

hello i am starting this year to go for musky and have some of the basic gear. will be targeting the georgian bay. would like to get some tips where to fish...not looking for your honey holes but areas and rivers in the georgian bay to hit, had a few guys tell me to try pointe au baril area, couple of guys say the french river, and the pickerel. so yeah any town you could point me to would be much appreciated. what time of year is best and all that stuff.i heard fall is the best but if you could give some of your experience as well. thanks i caught a musky last year by fluke and man it got me interested

i have a rubber boat and i don't taky it there bec one the weather can be windy at times and it a hard paddle back to shore. kayak would be a better bet.

tobermory is a beautiful place.been up there 6 times at least.not for fishing though.a lot of the guys i talk to there don't do a lot of shore fishing but hitting the deep water to fish for white fish and salmon.the shores on georgean bay ar rocky and have a steep drop off and not much fish around the marshes maybe at cuprus lake provincial park coulkd be a good spot. as for scenery, you gotta go to the grotto at cyprus lake it's like crystal clear, tropics like exept that the water is cold.bring some snorkels dude.lots of hidden coves in the area be sure to check out the little roads bef tobermory like at cameron's bay it's called i think.flower pot island too if your up to it....lots of snakes around.saw a rattler once at cyprus lake though not very often. might wanna check out the singing sands at dorcas bay...it's on the lake huron side, waters is much shallower and warmer.

i fish island lake a few times a year and i gotta tell ya, one of my best largemouth bass's came from there.12 inch pike i think is quite an average down there and tons of panfish.nice little man-made lake . so yeah when bass comes to season i'll head down there. oh and glad you guys had fun and belated happy birthday

have you got the "grand masters" info on his musky charters? would be interested in going if you don't mind giving it to me.

nice walleyes you got there.how big were the pikes?

i was at the moira river up at roslin/ thomasburg area by vanderwater, huntin for pike but i was skunked.i went figuring they'd be there cause the water levels were high and more fish would come up the river but i was wrong.they were not there amd hardly saw bait fish around. i had a 00s smallie hit this huge jerk bait, i had a follow could not tell if it was a musky or a pike, other than that nothing.i tried everything from spinners tipped with soft plastics of different colors, jerkbaits and you name it.they just weren't there.tried for walleye- slip bobber with a small jig tipped with leach and nothing. well could be you guys a right that they are a bit behind and the waters are still a wee bit cold for pike.

a little back pedalling there nowhitebucket, you had to throw the "moral issue". i am by no means a supporter of over fishing, in fact i practice catch and release, but why are you so mad at mr tran? sure over harvesting can destroy a population, but i don't think the weekend angler is taking all of it, those who do ought to be punished. these guys maybe, were just being nice to mr tran, ok here's some. climate change is not just bec it's not cold enough or warm enough, it's the whole damn ecosystem. just last year i was at my river that i've been fishing for years, water levels have been at the lowest the same as other places. your looking at it at a very narrow scope, the fact of the matter is we all play a role in this.people are too used to the comfort that making a simple lifestyle change is so hard. so you go ahead and cast the first stone if you haven't played a part in it.

no whitebucket .....you ought to read your regulations and not just read but to really understand them, so you don't go on accusing people of any wrong doing falsely. make sure it's the 2008 to be sure your reading the right one, see page 7 under catch and possesion limits. the statement fishing ain't what it used to be can be because of a lot of diff. reasons, not just due to over fishing. i think most of it is due to climate change but hey that's my take on it.

hey what kind of bait and time did you guys catch these giants?
