If you can tie a clinch knot you can run a bouncer or keel sinker...no need for gang trolls until they're in full summer mode, which they definitely wont be in May.
-
Won't need dipseys or riggers on the 24 for lakers, get 1-3 oz snap weights or bottom bouncers and experiment with various spoons and minnow baits until you put together a pattern. Finding what depth they're holding at is usually most important, late may I wouldn't be looking deeper than 40 ft. I like 1.3-1.7 mph

We were on a lake about 25 kms North of kiosk yesterday, and there was 21" of ice and 3.5+ feet of snow in the bush.

The regulations are not exactly the same in QC and ON regs, HOWEVER there is a sign on both sides of the river about 6 kms downstream of the dam. Also, June SIXTEENTH is the opening day.
Also, the Temiscaming dam is currently being rebuilt, so a new ramp was built directly across from Thorne (just before you get to the bridge). I live just down the road so msg me if you have any other questions.

Never even heard of a golden trout??? What purdy looking fish!
They call them palominos in the states, popular stocked fish, native to mountain lakes out west.

Very cool Nick! Gotta be the most fun you can have training a dog.

Vmaxs are great sleds that whole their value pretty well, one of those in excellent shape with bigger liquid cooled motor could probably fetch 2500+, but since it's fancooled I wouldn't pay more than 2 in late fall, wouldn't pay more than 1500 right now. Good sled though

Spent Thursday sledding on 45+ cm of fresh snow and fishing on 19" of good ice from sunrise to sunset....what's not to love?

Drove South down hwy 11 Sunday...Vernon narrows is wide open as far as the eye can see and the Magnetewan river is blown open and over the banks.

Awesome stuff. Would love to try putting this into practice, just tough to find lakes with a strong population of them, since no one around here targets them. How did you guys get onto this technique?
-
Slay is right! Good job

Very cool trip! Can't be too many folks venturing into kaby in the winter. The back half of this winter has been a very tough bite here as well, tough to pattern.

was hoping to chase ice out crappolas on GB...-16 this week not a chance.
