-17 last night and the same again tonight, ice was still mostly safe but this will help with trouble spots like springholes and current areas. Now we just need some snow to help with late season concrete out there right now.

I troll flies quite frequently in the spring and fall here (many fly-fishing only lakes). I use full sinking line and troll likely shorelines with leech flies and conehead muddlers, black is always best for me. Very effective technique, but if you don't have sinking line, at least get some sink tips.

The one up by Kirkland? Not sure there's any members living up that way. Plenty of good easy access trout fishing close to north bay available right now. Olrig (forest access) is plowed right to the power lines so all those splake lakes are an easy walk this year.

-10 tonight, -16 tomorrow night so it'll be shut down for the weekend.

Can't stress enough that for first time try to be there sunrise or sunset.

 

Noon or midday will have you out in big lake thinking it sucks.

Always was there sunrise or sunset get your place quick in east side outflow.

 

Never had to use live bait just lipless cranks, shad or shadow raps.

Caught tons of fish there midday, especially with an onshore wind and green water. Had lots of days where minnows and roe were the only things moving fish. Can also put out boards with Cleo's and raps for when things slow down. That plant is on borrowed time so get out there while you can.

Come down and visit. Lots of water opening up here.

We're getting there...I can kinda see my boat poking out from under the snow in the yard now...oh wait, nothing above zero for the next week, maybe next month

I caught one yesterday while speck fishing ripping an egb lol apparently they like hardware sometimes.

Small black woolly buggers and leech flies work great, worms. They're not exactly finnicky. If you find them, you catch them (or net/spear them)

Pharcyde were so crazy talented. I'm not big on the funky West coast sound, but I love the Pharcyde (and a bit of old Ice Cube).
