I'm on a bit of a cold streak myself, but I'm bound and determined to change that this weekend
-
Worms are pretty common in the herring out there. Just cut em out and enjoy.
-
Hooked into multiple seagulls. Thankfully they seem to be surprisingly cooperative.
Hooked into many 'logperch' [http://www.nanfa.org/images/convention/1999/logperch.jpg] at the Fenelon locks. Only place I've ever seen them. They look like striped stogies.
ps. if anyone happens to hook into a small plano box full of ice fishing spoons on nipissing shoot me a pm

Would have been a great day with all things prior to that "ham and cheese" Cliff, but that there is the icing on the cake as they say.
Or perhaps the cheese on the ham sandwhich?

Good on ya. Fished Nip twice this weekend with only a herring and a small handful of perch to show for it. you've got the walters dialed in
-
Slabs! I've never had any luck targetting crappies through the ice. something i'd like to get into
-
Was out off sunset point today. Saw a couple huts tipped over as well. the dusting of snow we got today made for primo conditions on the ice.

David allen Coe - Jack Daniels if you please
a fitting soundtrack for the weekend
-
hope ya went with the galvie trailer. always worth the few extra bucks.
-
the new rebels are beatiful rigs. time to play the waiting game
-
fished it last spring without any luck for the walters, but i've heard that lake is packed to the teeth with big 'skies
-
Out on Nipissing there's a very distinct feeding window for the perch, especially the big ones. The afternoon bite has been just about non-existent, but once it gets within an hour or so of dusk it's game on, pretty much non-stop. not sure if they move in or just getting active, but they can be just as picky as the walleyes when it comes to when they want to feed.

Try throwing 2 or 3 shiners onto some of those jigging spoons. I've never used a stinger hook for walleye, when they hit it they've pretty much always got the whole thing.
Good luck. Hopefully the ice gets solid in time for tomorrow.

Was out there last night and it was just starting to get slushy. I might head for the evening tomorrow depending on just how messy she gets.

-8 all night Friday night and snow after all the rain and warm temps. Hopefully it solidifies in time, or it'll be like snowshoeing through concrete
-
Looks like you got into them good. Nice shootin.
I'm going to try my hand at a little splake lake up north of here Saturday. Thanks for the primer

VERY interesting read. Had no idea the smelt had taken off so much in the past few years.
-
Impressive! Although I can't see that beast being overly easy to haul around

As much as I am a supporter of Pfleuger, Stradics are the way to go. They have their reputation for a reason.

Just got back from icing jumbos in a snowstorm. If you can't find any fun in that, you've got no pulse.

The long and short of it is, just about any food product being produced on such a mass scale is bound to have issues with toxins, whether it be from fertilizers, hormones, water pollution etc etc.
Those things are probably better than most beef on the market haha

Still well over a month of the hard stuff to go for me. Get out there, people!
-
I wonder what kind of response a 'Contents of One Bait Shops Minnow Tank' would garner.

If Randy wasn't so busy cooking dogs all day, he would have caught a lot more fish for sure!
I won't hold it against him.
