Good on ya for gettin out, and some great shots too. Your reports are always a great read.
Best of luck with treatment. Whoever mentioned the food at Sunnybrook was right...gross

The years have not been kind to Jari Kurri. He now performs for a family run circus that lost its seal.
LOL!
Scandinavians eat winter for breakfast.

wtg! It was beautiful out today, but was too busy to make it out. That ling is a pig!

Uhhh...the Habs are playing...

How much ice are you having to drill through up there?
-
Many of my favourite simcoe perch spots are on or near 60 + FOW.

I like your idea of a 'small' pike

Rod Caster, I had a few chunks of the herring and was pretty impressed. It's similar in texture to whitefish, just a little more oily and fishy.

I should learn to open my eyes.
I had a feeling Nick would pop a good fish out there. Nice shootin

Big thanks to Blair for the excellent hospitality (and the beer) and of course TJ for the awesome swag (currently enjoying my mug).
The fishing was good, and the company was even better. Always nice to meet OFC'ers

I've never used the supreme, but I own two Presidents and a Trion and they've yet to let me down. Great reels for a good price.

Right on! Talk about a primer...

See you guys on the ice tomorrow. Is 9 AM at the gov't dock still the plan?
-
Nice shootin'. Makes me regret having to miss the whities this year.

The long range is holding up nicely. Looking forward to getting out. Post-ice meet-up for a pint or two in Callander?
-
Hey guys, haven't really frequented OFC much over the past few months, but I'll be out fishing on Callander Saturday anyway, so I may as well keep a look out for you guys. Forecast is looking promising so far.

I only made it onto hardwater three times this season. All of which were on Quinte. I managed my PB hardwater walleye and I think 6 fish in those 3 trips. Quality over quantity I suppose?

Haven't been posting here much lately. With moving up north and college generally keeping me too busy to fish, I was eagerly awaiting this reading week to head back home and hit up my favourite steelhead waters. I arrived to prime water conditions and decent numbers of fish. Hope all you steelheaders got out and enjoyed the prime conditions.
Here's some pics. Enjoy. All fish were released.
Now for some northern speckles.

Extremely excited for this! Their last appearance was godlike. I'm game for some pre-show pike fishing too!
-
Why don't more people ice fish on Quinte? I am obviously not familiar with the area.
Have you BEEN there in the winter?
-
They work well on resident specks/bows, but I've never tried them on steelhead.

Thanks for the replies. I figured there was a cheaper alternative to buying the 50 dollar Humminbird battery.

I'm looking to replace the 12 v gel cell battery for my Humminbird fishfinder that died recently. I'm just wondering whether there will be any problems purchasing this http://compare.ebay.com/spid/29529017?fl=2...sShippingLowest as opposed to a Humminbird battery.
Thanks.
