  12. Have flown out of Nakina for 10 years. GREAT fishing. There are 3 or 4 outfitters in the area besides Twin Lakes, Arctic Watershed Outfitters, Luenberger's, Timber Ridge. It is true--you get what you pay for. Look at info from all. E-mail me if I can help [email protected].
  13. I am not compinsated by AWO, other than whst I have reported. Good people, fishing, equipment and $$$. I feel by responding to a question, as where to go, I am hepling a fellow fisherman make a good decsion on where to go.
  14. Try Arctic Watershed Outposts (awonakina.com) out of Nakina. Have used them 11 times with #12 this summer. Good cabins, boats, motors, and best of all the price is right with GREAT fishing. Our group caught and released over 1600 walleye and pike this year. Most walleye in the 15 to 24" range and the largest pike were 41" and a 46". Many pike in the 30 to 40" slot. The operators are great people and bend over backward to serve their clients. I have personal marked maps of many of their lakes. Fron Kap you can go to Tennet, Tester and Melchett. If I can give any more info, e-mail me at [email protected]. Good fishing
  15. Just returned from a fly in to Melchett Lake with Arctic Watershed Outfittters. Over all a good trip considering serveral things. Weather was terrible, HIGH winds, fog, rain, cold temps, thunder, lightning and the "S" word, snow. Also water was high. When we arrived in camp on June 1 the water was up approx. six inches. When we left it was over the permanant dock 6/8". Caught MANY walleye in the 15 to 20" range. No walleye larger. Pike were not as plentiful as in the past but LARGER. Many pike over 30" and two over 40". One was 41" and the other a 46" monster. In the low shore areas the water was back into the shrubs 12 to 20 feet. We felt this is where the pike were. No way to get a lure into such places. In all we caught over 1500 fish. Ate walleye and released the rest. All fish caught with artifical lures, no live bait. Pics to follow soon.
  16. Look at this web site. www.agatebaylodge.com. Have not tried it personaly but have heard GOOd things about the complete operation.
  17. Many years ago I fished Red Cedar numerous times. Found the best eye spots to be what we called "the narrows". A narrow stretch of water connecting two parts of the lake on the NE end. Also Holdridge Creek. Caught most of the eye in eves and early morn. TOUGH fishing during day. As I said many years ago--1965 to 1980. Must have fished lake 20 times or more.
  18. My STIHL saw shop told me never to used regual gas with ethanol. Use a mid range or premium gasoine.
  19. Thanks for the replies. Can always count on another fisherman for help. Have a great summer.
  20. Posted this once but lost responses. Need a good family style resturant in Geraldton, Ontario. This would be for a meal while traveling to Nakina.
  21. Look at what Nakina has to offer. Paved strip and many camps and lodges from there.
  22. Weather much warmer in Nakina than NE Ohio. Boy could we use weather other than cold, rain, snow, sleet etc.

  24. Fished this lake many years ago. We found it very TOUGH. Exceptional clear water. Caught a few small eyes and small lake trout.
