Apologies for the slow update but I finally got back at this one recently. I wanted to clean up the background and get the water to a point I could live with. I tweeked my background Mountains and should be ready to get some or "A" fish in there now. Wish me luck I think I'll need it. Bushart

Hello' As someone who has been a licenced tradesperson for 25 + years and have worked in several capacities I can have an opinion but as all have stated it is your future alone. I too started as a gas fitter but I found I needed more to become viable in the marketplace. I was fortunate to get an apprenticeship in sheet metal and combined made it easy to find employment anywhere in the country. I had to serve my time in the construction trades but it paid off in the end. There currently is a large shortage of qualified people in the workforce and projections say will be for some time. I would fear going to Alta. and getting pigeon-holed in one position and not becoming as qualified as I could be---remember there are good paying jobs in the trades--country-wide and areas where the cost of living is more moderate. It can be very relative. All this being said I believe there is one question you should ask yourself---where and what do you see for yourself in 3-5 years. That will probably go a long ways in giving your answer. Also as someone who has moved around considerably---money is only a portion of the equation---moving to a place where you do not know a soul into an area that is extremely foreign can be confusing---target your short and long term goals and they will tell you how to get there. Best of Luck Bushart

Thanks, I have something on the easel currently but I will keep that in mind for the future. I use acrylics mostly. I'm likin those birds of prey---what caught my eye was those spread out tail feathers on what I believe is the hawk (with leg straps on) I will ask prior if I'm thinking that direction though. Once again nice stuff Bushart

Absolutely amazing. Do you get these shots in Ontario. As a painter I find myself thinking art when I see stuff like this---darn those copyright laws. Truly Great work Bushart

I believe legal standards should be where the bar is placed. Other than that opinions and emotions enter into the equation(and we all know why divorce lawyers drive the big cars) I look at the scenario where David Suziki states he does not believe in C & R fishing --fishing should be done for food. Now it's hard to find a bigger coservationaist/environmentalist than him. I have seen another fishing message board where members would be publicly ridiculed for acting within the law and keeping fish they were entitled to---That's why I just default to the law is the standard because there will always be differences of opinions.

Cool shots--looks like he'd like to find where the rest of the gang is. They are extremely curious at that age--3x in my life I've been in the bush up north hunting and basically had to scare them off the trail to get them to go away---nice to experience though.

Just a thought... With these vehicles being big time gas hogs and the focus on the environment--maybe investigating fuel efficient full size vehicle technology maybe a start. I know GM is releasing a full size truck hybrid but not sure on particulars. Maybe if better technology is coming in a year or so---a beater may get you through till the time of investment---it may be awful to dive intoday at a big ticket price to find out in a year it's outdated. Food for thought Bushart

Hello All, In keeping with sharing of ideas and techniques in this section I thought I'd give updates as my latest painting evolves. Unfortunately I should have had this idea a while ago as it is well under way. If you knew me anything could change from this point as I go along. The idea is a gravel river bed and possibly a dying salmon--maybe a white tail--giving her a last go. Mountains will likely change a bit--I'm not satisfied there yet. Bushart

Cool--kinda the minks version of revenge on mankind. One time a few years back myself and another guy were ice fishing a lake in Northern Ontario in the early spring. We had a couple eaters caught and laying beside the holes in the snow---we were standing by one hole and then suddenly a bald eagle flew ought of a tree and grabbed a fish from the hole furthest from us---pretty comical. Thanks to everyone for their words of support---I think like the Algonquin trail picture--painting is a way to show how we view life--it's a medium like photography, music or literature. It lends colour in how we express our thoughts. This is something I painted on the wall in my studio--it started with a pine marten I used to see when I was hunting
