  1. When I was at the spring fishing show there was a guy there who makes and sells fishfinder mounts machined out of solid aluminum... An ode to the Balzout mounts made and sold in the US. Well I cant find his card... does anyone know who i'm talking about? I would love one of his mounts in lieu of the standard RAM offering. TIA.
  2. Never really did much trout/salmon fishing this time of year but it looks like a great way to start the season so I'm heading out of Jordon on monday AM. Looking for a 2nd. I dont have downriggers but I do have planers/dipsys etc.which should get the job done. ' Would like someone to join me that has some knowledge of this type of fishing please and thanks. PM if interested. Cheers!
  3. How do you affix your dividers in your plano stowaways? I try to cut them apart with a bit of flashing left on it for a snug fit but sometimes they just break off clean and then they don't fit tight. Not sure if a super glue would work on that material either. Thoughts?
  4. Just left the Oshawa store, all hunting and fishing is 15% off.
  5. Come on spring 2017 !!!

  6. I currently own a Kodiac (Honda Motor) with 2800 psi which is ok but not the power I need. I'm looking for something with more power and more versatility. Been looking at the Yamaha PW4040 which has 4000 psi/4gpm, quick release fittings, braided hose, etc. Definitely top quality with a price to match at $1500 list. Are there any others I should look at?
  7. Thank you Terry!!
  8. Been a Humminbird guy forever but really like what Lowrance has to offer. Plan on ordering a new boat in the spring so I'm starting to spec out the electronics. PM me if you're interested in assisting. Thanks! Patrick.
  9. Thanks everyone, going to Dan's this weekend to get them installed
  10. I'm looking for a decent set of used rims for my 2016 Sierra 1500. !7" or 18" preferably. Steel or Alloy, They'll be for snow tires. Or an entire set with winter tires would work as well Just thought I'd post here as I've come up empty handed on Kijiji.... If you have or know someone who does, let me know! TIA.
  11. Let me know how it goes, i'm going out saturday
  12. The most important step in reel maintenance is the cleaning portion otherwise you're just putting grease and oil onto the problem. I know this may sound obvious but what I mean is a thorough cleaning. I have an Ardent reel cleaning kit that includes a solvent and special foam Q tips to facilitate proper cleaning. Once you get all the old lube and grit out, then its time to lubricate. I'd rather do a full cleaning/lub every 2 years than a half-assed attempt every season. Its time consuming and tedious but very rewarding come next season. And what else have you got to do all winter...lol PS. Anyone know where I can get more of these foam tipped stix???
  13. The Thames is always chocolate milk and not because of the wind and I've seen people catch skis in that water all the time in late fall. Shadzillas are the bait of choice and maybe because of the vibration they produce.. who knows..
  14. Thanks! I'll check them out.
  15. Def. use the perch I catch..lol
  16. Going to GB for the weekend and was wondering where to get good sized "fall walleye" live minnows along my route. The Bait Bucket in Barrie only has small/medium. Thanks in advance!
  17. OMG, is there an award we can give this guy???? That was beyond awesome...
  18. All the one's I keep taste like rich man's pike.... :rofl2:
  19. G Bay for me late next week for Muskie, Walleye, and Bass in the that order. I'm sure a few pike will get in the way was well..lol
  20. Does anyone know where I can buy a Lakewood Muskie tackle box around the GTA? Not GTA but Cabela's used to carry it but sold out. The other is Pro Tackle in Belleville. Unless someone on here knows of a used one for sale ??!!?? Medium or Monster model..:-D Thanks in advance!
  21. Thanks for the help. Not looking for monsters, I'm an hour away from Erie if that's what I want. I have a rapala measuring guide stuck on the inside of my boat Taken from the 2016 publication for zone 14. - S - 2 in one day, possession limit of 4; none between 41-56 cm (16.1-22 in.), not more than 1 greater than 56 cm (22 in.)
  22. As I'm staying up near vanderdassen island I wont be trekking down to Arnolds bay at night but your idea has merit! I have a super bright mag-light which I'll put to use. Anyone who wants to get a good look at the topography in this area should check out the Navionics Webapp. It totally free and no sign up required. As everyone says, they move shallower at night so I'll be trying pretty much everything everyone suggests until I find something that works. I'll do a fishing report when I get back if its worth while... Thanks everyone for your ideas and other inputs.
  23. Its just like Point au Baril in a lot of ways but I do know the area very well and I won't be going far from camp. Never considered the rattle trap tho.. Nice idea. Thanks!

  25. I'll be heading up to Georgian Bay (moon river basin) for my final GB fishing trip of the year in Mid October. I'll be exclusively targeting muskie during the day but as the days are relatively short, I would like to give walleye night fishing a go. I've also picked this time as its a full moon and I'll be camping in the park. Just wondering if anyone can give me some ideas about what patterns to try. TIA!
