  1. Dogs are pack animals. And when they get in the pack mode the may not act the same way you expect them to act at home. Any dog can be aggressive even more so when in a pack situation. Yup Rizzo even your cute cuddly Poodle is(was) a hunting breed dog even though they are no longer considered in the sporting group. I doubt anybody would be raising this much fuss if it were a “pit bull”. BSL is Bull. A farmer somewhat near me uses Great Pyrenees to protect his flock, I’m sure Rick can give a good background on this breed. I’d hate to see what would have happened to the two goldens if they had gone after this farmers flock. While normally gentle and layed back the LGD’s can and will fight to the death if necessary. Normally the predator will back down when confronted by the size of the big dog(s).
  2. Your HR department should get you a H-1B or L1 visa for you to work in the US office. Just wave your gun as your going through customs and tell them you are on your way home, they will wave you right through
  3. Save the Poor Mexicans, ride a horse not a car !!!
  4. Going back to TG's post..... Mr. Gore did a smart thing when he founded and chaired Generation Investment Management LLP based out of London in 2004 and founding and chairing the Alliance for Climate Protection. No matter if you believe in the cause of global warming or not you have to respect his direction. Not all facts in all documentries are true, take a look at most of Michael Moore’s stuff. Everybody tends to bend the info to reach their own goal. I found the documentry Manufacturing Dissent to be a great example of this. Gore is a very smart business man, and his award winning documentary was a great marketing tool to make him a very rich man. How convenient…. As for winning a Nobel prize for peace. Sure whatever, but I’m sure there are other people out there making just as much or more of a difference in the world than Al. Maybe Mr. Dallaire will win something one of these days for what he tried to do when nobody would listen, kind of doubt it though. Maybe the Dalai Lama should get another one? Anyway this is a fishing board, turn off your computers for a couple of weeks and stop using all this electricity for useless bickering and maybe Roy will be able to turn his off too. Lord knows if he turned his computer off for just a day the world would be a better place with all the carbon credits he would save. Maybe now I’ll go read about getting my balls snipped.
  5. Sort of like watching urban outdoor adventures carp fishing with the twins....
  6. Had a great day fishing with ya Lew. Can’t wait to do it again once I get some of them fancy pro patches on my fancy fishing shirt. Let me just add this to what Lew has said. We were fishing the side of an Island and buddy was anchored on one of the points. We passed by the guy and setup working the weedbed along the island. When we got to the other end of the Island buddy motored on in and anchored in front of us. I’m sure he knew what we were doing and what he was doing. I almost felt sorry for the bugger until I saw him reel up a second line and put the rod away. Anywho, gotta love some of the posters on this board….or not. Guess you just had to be there not reading about it on a “fishing” board.

    Urgent

Good job Corey, no wonder people have such a low image of us IT people. Want a job? We are looking for some new support personal in our company and I’m sure with your attitude you can drive most of our problem clients away within a few minutes. Questions like Raf posted are not un-necessary. For somebody unfamiliar with the product it is a quick way to figure out if you can help out or not. Had the software package used a DB that he was familiar with I’m sure he would have offered further advice. Lots of accounting packages on the market will allow the use of the backend DB of your choice. But since Simply accounting is not one of the higher end packages by a long run not a lot of support people will have a lot of history with it. This also leads into Wolfville’s comments. He didn’t offer an opinion on how to fix Gerritt’s problem, but something to think about going forward. You did offer Gerritt some good advice, call the company that created/supports the product. But I’m sure a smart guy like him thought about that right off the bat and that didn’t work out for him and he asked for some input from others. Don’t jump on other people just because they aren’t as smart as you think you are. Remember this thread the next time you have a question about something, it might just come back to bite you in the ass.
