  1. You will be much happier with the gas unit. The only caution is with the extra pressure you need to back off the work area to keep from damaging it. Since it is a gas unit an you will most likly keep it in the garage make sure you blow out the pump and hoses if it is going to be below freezing it will save the ceramic seat and plungers in the pump.

  2. Here it is we take the time to organize/discuss this with the host and schedule it for a time frame so we can fish for as many species as we can. We then ask him to hold the camp as best he can and give us preferred booking. Talk to the people who have over the years donated time, money and effort to again step up to the plate to put prizes on the table even though few winners have taken the time to drop a note to the sponsors to thank them. I won't even go into what it takes for myself as a sponsor and the person the farthest away to drive 14 hours to get there. Well the good news is I have done it for the past 6 years because the people who show up are darn glad to see me and they are the cream of the crop in my book. I am sorry that some can not attend and no matter what date it is some still can not attend. Sorry for the rant but when we have expended as much effort as we have to get this organized every year it seems like a slap in the face and if it were not for the good friends that show up I could be 1000.oo dollars richer a year and many hours ahead of the game by passing on this wonderful event.

  3. Yaa but look at how cool you look standing up in the back of the boat with a tiller in your hand. Man just pop a Marlboro Cigarette in your mouth and unzip your jacket so it can flutter in the breeze.... and your the bomb.

I don't own a tiller ones to big, ones to fast, and the other I need to sit up front so I can see the rocks before I hit them.

  4. Wireless GPS Modem

Once you plug the modem into your game camera, the AT&T cellular network gives you the ability to wirelessly transmit images from your new game camera to your private-access web site. The GPS modem connection also allows you to change your game camera settings or check the battery status, even from your internet-capable cell phone or PDA.

Note: Wireless GPS Modem only available for use in the U.S.

Looks like it is proprietory to At&t with a 39.99 a month fee for the website usage. It appears it is a must unless you hack the modem to a new I.P.

That is the camera we use on the farm it takes great pictures and with the card I think it will do 1800 pictures. Maybe Joe will chime in or send him an P.M. T.J..

  5. I would think your wrath should be at Le Barons were you bought the reel. Even then it seems it should be little if any. Le Barons has offered to trade it in for you but the others were defective. I would ask them to trade it in for a future shipment if they are not also poorly made. I can't fault the makers of the Quantum since they have offered to make it right. They are only asking for you to return the reel for a new one. That seems pretty fair to me.Yes you will be paying the shipping to them and they will pay the shipping back to you. It was their fault for putting a reel out that had a flaw and it was your fault for not looking closely at a non returnable item. I think that the quantum line should not be faulted because you want them to do other than what is fair to both parties. I Have dealt with companies that reside in Canada and when I had a warrentee issue it was requested that I send it back to Canada. I had no issues with that because it is were the companies experts are who evaluate the product for warrentee issues. I know this is a catch 22 issue who made the first mistake and what should have been done but hind sight here will not move the issue forward. Best to box it up with a note and take them up on their offer of meeting you half way.

  6. I decided it was time to dig out the boat and go fishing on Saturday so off Earl and I went. Once we got to the water it was blowing 25 mph and just overcast. We fished for 3 hours with no bites and called it a day.The good news is I brought home 24 minnows to use Sunday at a local farm pond.It actually is a little big to be called a pond and since it shows up on google Earth I will call it a lake.

I was into fish 2 minutes after the first cast and this beautiful Crappie comes to the dock. Their was many more to come from that hole and after 12 more the same size I moved on to see if their were bigger ones.

This was one of the bigger ones and to keep from slimming my phone I decided to take photos to as needed.cbfd047b.jpg

I hooked on the biggest minnow in the bucket 3 inches and lobbed him out to see if he would get some action. As soon as he hit the water the bobber went down and I figured he was just to big for it but after 30 seconds I gave it a pull and reeled in this bass.

Well a few hours of catching fish and 24 minnows gone it was time to head back home.

  8. ok .. so here's a twist on the same question ... If I normally troll ALL day on a 9.9 seahorse... but would like a n electric trolling motor for finesse in the back bays (17' heavy fiberglass boat) .. small lake (about 3.5 square miles) ... in a ZEC where we have NO electricity to recharge the battery ... what would you recommend ? (motor and battery) for a 3 - 4 day trip... needs to be relatively easy to mount/stow away. (not sure if bow or stern is better .. I personally would opt for stern...since I drive while 'he' sleeps :)

Does the 9.9 have a charging circuit? If so then you can hook the battery to it and charge as you run. If not I am not sure any battery will last 3-4 days without charging. The trolling motor the larger it is the more/faster you will drain the battery. I don't know of a solar charger that will work quick enough and it is a pain to hook it up to the truck and run it to charge it again.

  9. I presented a check made to ART MELANCON at my bank the new teller did not know me so she asked for my License to confirm the name. She said she could not cash it because it was made out to ART and my license said ARTHUR. She had been instructed to not cash checks made out to nick names. Sigh.....We had a discussion about the difference between nicknames and first names. It took the teller next to her to pull her aside and assure her it was O.K. to cash mt check. It is a good thing she did not see my Driving Record it has an alias on it McLancon due to a bad E somewhere in the records. Got to love the system.
