  1. Refinished bathtubs are nothing more than an epoxy paint sprayed on a cleaned surface. They will show any damage in the old paint thru the new paint. They will be a spot that is not cleaned well enough and the paint will bubble or peel. They will come out and fix it for free but you will have a repair that looks like a repair and the tub paint will be at a different height than the surrounding area and show a line every time the water dries. I have seen a lot of these repairs when they call me to replace the tub after they spent the money. Option two is a plastic cover they put over the tub and form up walls to make a pretty seamless finish. The dirty secret is the way the drain line is attached it can allow water to get trapped in between the tub liner and the old tub. You will find few plumbers who will repair this issue and none of them will offer a warranty. To remove a tub you can cut out the old tub but to install a new unit you need to strip out 3 to 5 courses of tile so you can place the tub in one corner raising the other end up high enough to get it in place then set it down flush. You then install the drain line and then the durarock and tile are installed. Don't forget to replace the faucet if it is worn or older than 10 years a good tile job should last another 10 or 15 years and to replace the faucet sooner than that makes tile work needed again.

  2. Here is the unit I added to my power steering unit I use the foot controller for speed and on and off and just kick the extention back and forth. top notch troll It is not for everyone but it makes it alot easier to use than the ones with the low hand controller. If anyone is interested in it it does take an adapter and you need to remove the power head to do it correctly I will be happy to tell you how to and send you an adapter.

  3. I find the hand controller to be easier to steer while fishing. I have a electric wireless and you touch the foot or hand controller and you don't know if it will move slightly or a whole 20 degrees. I got fed up with it and made an adapter and hand lever to make it run on and off and speed control on the foot controller the direction is now movable with you foot or leg while fishing. It also allows you to stand on both feet equally while fishing so no more tired leg from supporting you all day.

  4. Ever since they put that meter in a year or two ago my bill is about $40-$50 more a month. Even changed the bulbs over ,drying and dishwasher after 9pm/now 7pm when possible. Rec'd my water bill a couple months ago and my waste water was$8 more than my water coming in ,how is that possible now?

Getting back to the meter, I think there is something going on! in" Hydro's favour."

If they do it the same way up North as we do Down here. They read the water in and the waste water is calculated by the water meter reading. Waste water can not be read thru a turbine unit due to the solids the only technology that reads waste water is a "ping" unit and are very expensive. We have a system if you have water irrigation they put in a separate meter in the house then deduct it from their meter and multiply it by the sewer fee.

    Hope this helps

  5. That's a shame Terry I use both gas and diesel and when I use the Gas Buddy app. on my Iphone it can save me quite a bit. We have places that are less than 30 miles apart and can find up to .40 cents difference. So far I have not had any major price differences between the pump and the app. less than .05 cents which I guess might be because they changed the daily price after it was posted. If you are finding this as an issue in an area report it they can track the person that makes the wrong price input and remove them from the reporting list.

  6. I will never buy another Moen product. After having cut an access hole in a one piece bathtub fiberglass enclosure while building our place, and getting lousy shower pressure from the Moen shower set up, eventually called customer service 800 number for advice. Was told cartridge could not be changed and required minimum 60 psi water pressure - nothing on the carton about that. Was (like many others) operating on my own pump at 40 and no need to increase. Service rep became abusive after being asked for alternatives or an exhange on the kit. Needless to say, nothing done.

Now have two showers, one at each end. The Moen end is a constant reminder to avoid this company and to let others know of their lousy customer service.

I have not heard of this before P.M. sent.

  7. We have windchill here. Is windshield colder? And they're probably standing outside for the same reason that a supposedly sane person leaves his loving wife in their nice warm bed to go sit on the ice in a cardboard box in -28 weather, only to step out of the box from time to time to make another hole in the ice.

So let me sum this up Roy..... they are fishing..... Wow our homeless down here where it is warm just ask if you got a dollar. What an amazing world we get to live in day by day. :thumbsup_anim:

  8. The warranty industry for auto repairs is huge and for only a few is it a smart purchase. First off remember they are their to make money so they are written to make sure they make a profit over the long run. They have analyzed all classes of vehicles and then set a general profitable price plus what the dealer will make on the transactions. If you can take the $1900.00 and put it into a bank account and not touch it then you will get the money back plus interest in a few years. The warranty does not cover the maintenance issues that you will have throughout the life of the truck so it does not count towards using the $1900.00. I have a Nissan Titan that has a price tag of $6000.00 to replace the transmission I then did my homework and found that their was less than 1:1000 chance of it being the one that would fail and be covered by a warranty. I did not purchase the warranty and it would have expired last year I am $2400.00 plus interest richer.

  9. I hope that your helper feels better soon. I have no constructive info to give you because of the lack of ice down here. When it is all said and done the joy of the build should be cherished as much as the time spent using it.

  10. The unit can't be safely converted to propane the orifices are larger for butane. The unit I have I use to melt lead in a small lead ladle and it seems that if you don't have a pan or pot on it the heat does not warm up the butane tank and the flame gets weak as the can gets colder. I usually have to warm up the canister with my leather glove to get the flame back up higher. I guess if you keep a pot of water on it it will work and also add humidity to the hut. A minor concern also is it does not have a low oxygen cut off.

  11. I have read and decided to leave it up it seems Glaucus has a issue with our (Mod's) integrity I feel rather their is a problem with his attitude. If he decides to take it to P.M. with the person he feels has "wronged society" then we will reevaluate this thread.
