Hey to all the pike and perch experts out there I was wondering if you can please help me out. There is a local river near my cottage its has pike and perch year round but I wasn’t to sure if there would be pike and perch during the winter. So hears some info the river is an average of 12 ft deep has heavy weed cover and is relatively slow flowing. so my question is if the weeds are still green do you guys and gals think pike and perch will stay in this type of water I no the answer can be 100% but if there is no way theses species will stay in this habitat then I wont bother even trying but if there is a possibility then I might just have to give it a shoot.

Hey my family just recently purchased a cottage in wasaga beach and was wondering if anyone on here ice fishes any lake within a 30- 40 min drive from wasaga not asking for exact spots just names that way I have an idea dieing to hit the hard water simcoe doesn’t have enough ice for my liking. Thank you so much everyone. O ps if there are lake in this area what are there ice conditions hope I am not asking for to much. Thanks everyone.

Hey everyone I was wondering if someone could tell me how much ice little lake in Barrie has. Also if the fishing is any good it will be my first time.

My first fish was when I was 4 they were small 6-8 inch rainbows and brookies then I later moved on to catching my first steelhead later on that year witch took me many years to once again catch one. my first steel was rather a fluke my grandfather set up my worm and told me to wait before casting me being the one never to listen to people I casted all I remember is my grandfather holding on to my rod while I reeled the fish it too me 7 more years to catch another steelhead maybe the fact I never actually tried targeting them would be a reason well now I am hooked on steelhead so may the moral of the story be if your gut tells u to do something do it because I did and it ended up that that decision to cast my line is what helped me find my love and passion for steelheading.

cc I hit 2 fish today I was also going to get skunked when I decided to try one last spot the pool holding the most fish was full with snagers I decided to go for a walk hit 2 nice 7 + pound bows in a small pool. I was also east. I didn’t have a cell so I didn’t report them but they said they were going to be there again next week at 6:30 all be calling the mnr and notifying them. These guys had 7 bows 3 over 10 pounds and 2 female browns I tried by casting my line over there and hawging the pool but it didn’t work. I was called an idiot for putting my line on there’s when they had fish its funny to see grown men call 14 year old an idiot because he actually cares about the future of steelheading. I hope theses guys get busted next weekend.
