  1. I rented a cottage on it a couple of years ago. We only caught 2 walleye, so they are in there. Lots of smallies and largies. Supposed to be a good population of muskie but i didn't catch any.
  2. I stayed on a island cottage for a week when that downburst/tornado hit Manitoulin Island, so a few years ago. We fished mostly bass and caught a few pike. Mostly tube jigs did the trick. Apparently, if you ask around up there there are some trout pen just floating around. I was told you fish near them with shrimp and can do quite well. Good luck!
  3. I would definatley try black long power worm rigged texas style. A grub (twister) tail on it. Watch out for the rock bass in that lake. Mizzmo
  4. It depends on how stained or weedy the water is
  5. you could also try some of the bridge on the rankin river. decent largies and pike
  6. is there a dam in kinmount
  7. thanks for the replies guys, we are actually staying about 5 km south of Kinmount. Mizzmo
  8. I have read maybe some walleye but definately smallies and muskies. Can anyone confirm this
  9. Hello All I have rented a cottage on the mighty burnt river between Cameron Lake and Four Mile Lake (but closer to four mile). Just wondering what fish species i might encounter or how the fishing is in this area of the river. Thanks for now. Mizzmo
  10. I heard great things about Balsam walleye in the spring and crappie too. There is a professional fishing guide named ******* Bower. Says he can find them with his eyes closed. Just fish really big lures. No seriously, i heard x-raps and jointed rapalas and white twisters. Natural colors though. I think i'll be seeing you up there!!! Mizzmo
  11. thanks for the help guys! that should get me started in the right direction.
  12. i've fished them a couple of time and have friends that do. bouncing twister tailed grubs works well for bass and pike. a float with either leeches or a crayfish under it is the way to go. just drift the deeper holes.
  13. try the big creek mouth south of bobcaygeon (sturgeon lake) for muskie and walleye. work deep weedlines. i used minnow immitation crank baits. i'm sure there are bass there to just never tried for them. good luck!
  14. hello all i have just rented a cottage on sandy lake (buckhorn). i was just wondering what species are located here? i am suspecting smallmouth are there. we will be there toward the end of september. thank you Mizzmo
  15. thanks for the info discophish! i'll let you know if i catch any walleye. Mizzmo
  16. a small egb spoon has always worked if brookies are around. the hammered finish, with copper colour on one side. the spoon that spins like a spinner. but if you cast it let it fall as far as you can because you have to real fast to make it spin properly. trolling has always worked best though.
  17. I have booked a cottage at harris lake this summer, the one northeast of parry sound just off 124. i was just wondering what fish species are in this lake so i can prepare? i have heard small and large mouth bass exist here. i was more interested in pike though. thanks Mizzmo
  18. i would recommend guelph lake over belwood anytime, but you need an electric motor. a lot less traffic because no gas motors. i would suggest fishing a road that runs through the lake (watson rd.) with tubes and small spinner baits. it is deep on the west side of the road and shallow to the east. it is tougher fishing because the water has receded away from and shore vegetation. mostly smallmouth, and some big ones.
  19. yeah, let me know how you do at that spot. i have raised some big ones there but haven't been there for 4-5 years now. i lived there when i went to school.
  20. try googling fish-hawk maps, they have one for sturgeon lake. find emily creek south of bobcaygeon and fish the creek mouth. mainly the south point right at the lake, tight to the shore very deep weed line. i caught 3 three muskies on three casts, biggest 8lbs but a memorable evening none the less. any minnow imitations should work. caught a few eyes there too casting.
  21. i have fishied bisco many times, usually in the july. i found downsizing your lure bigtime is the key. there mind is on smaller amount then, i feel. sorry to here about the rest but some beauty fish though!
  22. i have been to jacks lake a few times and always caught some muskie, walleye and bass. not alot though. should i expect similiar results on Kasshabog? i was also wondering maybe some lure ideas for muskies or bass in this lake? i've rented a cottage here for the first week in sept.. and never been before. i heard it is a very rocky lake. thanks Mizzmo
  23. I have seen a video (online) about two people that video taped a large black cat in there backyard in the winter. google it and you should find it. i think it was spotted north of peterborough, if i'm not mistaken. my dad was driving on a logging road near biscotasing last week and a brown cougar jumpedd out in front of his vehicle. he thought it may have been a lynx but i don't think so by the size he said it was.
  24. A friend of mine just came back from there last week. he did really well for eyes. he said they were in the weeds 5 to 8 feet of water. chartruese worked well for him. nothing over 22 inches. hope that helps a little. mizzmo
