  1. Bradley Perzul Memorial Derby 2010 Sat. Feb. 27th SATURDAY FEB. 27'TH 2010 Registration Starts at 7 and the fishing will begin at 8. Late registers can see me on the ice like last year but this time i will not be fishing the event. Only for fun. Weighin is at 2pm. NO fishing after 2pm. 50 percent of the money will go towards the heart and stroke like last year in memoration of Bradley P. the other 50 percent will be divided in 2 and half will go to the longest pike and the other half will go to the heaviest weight of 5 combined perch. If no pike is caught there will be a 1st and 2nd for the perch division. 10 dollars per person to enter. Everyone is to follow all the rules and regulations of the MNR and the law. The boundaries are the same as last year from the point of the bay right across to the other side. It is to be held from Rennie Park near the Tim Hortons. We will be having a donational barbeque. NO fishing before 8. Anyone caught mixing fish with someone or cheating in any way will be disqualified. Fish can be dead for weigh in but not frozen so bring a bucket to keep them alive. Pike can be measured at any time along with your 5 perch if you need to leave early. This is open to the public so tell everyone and bring anyone you want. Organizers are not responsible for stolen, lost equipment, personal injury or death. Fish at own risk. This is a fun derby so come out for the day and contribute to a good cause.
  2. Fun day for sure, thanks for coming guys.......i found the king i dropped over bored DOH dont think youd want to eat him in the shape he is now though
  3. spring fish are awesome to eat.....nice on the cedar plank or smoked......better to keep them now then in the summer or fall they taste much better. also we were in a torunament so we didnt keep them for the sake of keeping them.
  4. Fishing is getting really hot. This past weekend was nuts with lotsa numbers and good size. Looking to be a very good year with the fish already fat! Heres some of the bigger ones from sunday and a 20.96 lb laker. Bowen
  5. oops cell phone went down today....no matter what or where you drop it in the hut it will always finds the hole
  6. ya swim 100 feet then go belly up in the 80 degree water.....maybe on a small boat that works fine but i know i cant reach the water leaning outta my seaswirl.
  7. gotta stick up for the charter guys. I know 90 percent of my clients only fish that one day a year at least on the great lakes. Most love to eat the fish they catch.......they come once a year and take there 5 and great, they freeze them and before they know it there gone. Howmany reuglar anglers only keep 5 fish throughout the whole year i bet none i know i keep ten times that for tournaments alone. I know if im gonna sit down and cook a fish when i cedar blank a little rainbow i can eat it almost all myself. 5 fish for the year for someone is nothing considering if they bought there own rig and fished for themselves. another point is i no dozens of charter captains who belong to clubs to suport the fisheries and my self included helped with the egg collection on the credit. now the port dalhousie net pen is a go in port i heard today theres 10 thousand fish stocked in the spring and guess who its done - mostly lake fisherman just read spoonpullers. Bowen
  8. 2 retainers. 1 Cell 2 pri Bars in the same day but got one back with a big magnet. Lower end of hand auger-got back with a magnet 2 rods this year so far a toonie.
  9. i stayed in the exact resort 3 years ago. There are unlimited shore spots, we rented scooters and drove the casway for miles. For fishing we booked a charter through the resort. Best money ever spent we payed 350 US for a 41 ft boat a captain and mate for 8 hours. Only me and my dad were on the boat. Caught uncountable number of barracuda and about 15 tuna. Problem was getting the tuna in without the sharks taking it. The guys were awesome by the end of the day they stayed up top and me and my dad were running the outriggers and all the gear. ( running salmon charters helped). If you have the chance go for it, it was one of the best fishing trips of my life.
  10. Steelhead Walleye My personal best salmon i didnt get a picture was but the digital scale read 34lbs. dont fish for bass or pike so my PBS arent high. Bowen
  11. Hey Mike, I would head out to the blue zone from where ever you are launching (300 plus feet of water). They may be down deep so dont be afraid to run your riggers down 100 feet or so. But the may be up high so keep moving around the depths untill you find a pattern that works. Im sure you will run into some teenage salmon as well so maybe a flasher fly combo along with some spoons would be a good choice. Good luck, Bowen
  12. Hey capt Bruce not everyone has a 150 thousand dollar boat...infact only few on teh lake do. Who has 8 electric riggers on their boat no one i no unless your running multiple boats. 500 for a rod and reel set is not likely what type are you using and if you pay that your getting ripped off. I dont pay close to 4000 for summer dock. Next time you judge other boats make sure you know what they run. i run a 21ft seaswirl with one 60 gallon tank with a 15 horse fourstroke that hardly burns anything....gas is the least of my worries. My rod and reel combos arent close to 500 each and either are anyone elses. Stop goign over board by nearly double on all of your calculations to try and prove your point. I charge 350 becasue that is what is fair for me and my customers for ahalf day. Why would i do it if i wasnt making any money? Bowen
  13. if a guy attacks me on my boat without me doing anything to deserve it hes not going to be getting to shore by boat maybe a life jacket or a floating ring. Unless he could over power you in that case you have to let them handle the situation and hope it doesnt end badly. Police would have been good but i dont understand what would provoke this outburst and why was he on your boat in teh first place just for a cruise? did he seem nice before you took them out and did u do somethign to scare or upset the passengers. lots of blanks. Bowen
  14. beads took most fish. one was near 20 but not quite other 2 were teens and one that was an inch bigger than the spoon. Shallower than before 30-40 zone spoons riggers.
  15. we went 3 for 4 tnoight off weller. Do i need to get you guys back ont the reelhard and show you what catches fish?
  16. 1st and 2nd gear have the most power which make you do weelies. Tough luck man i rode bikes since i was 5 and even raced for a year. Injuries suck but those 5 seconds of freedom while your in the air makes it all worth it. Bowen
  17. just get a high pressure hose and spray it evertime u want to go out. Works good on big and small dogs my neighboor used to have a yappy jack russel and a big shepard. They run like cowards and wont come out for a while. Bowen
  18. awesome Video Rob and thanks guys for a great weekend hope to do it again. Bowen
  19. definitly consistence. Same spot fish both times and no fish being caught anywhere else.
  20. Headed back out tonight after the seas calmed. Launched at around 4 and we were king bound. Got set up around 4:30 5 and shortly after we had our first fish in the boat. Little while later the rigger fires and im onto a nice on but the hooks pop out inches away from the net. A little lul now but we get one more good rip and end up loosing it after about 30 seconds. Back at her a couple nights threw the week and will update on the king situation. tony with holding the only one landed Bowen
