But don't forget the drink order of any fishing trip. Baileys/Coffee then a Ceaser, beer all day, then a few ryes to finish the night off.
Do we know each other?
1. Caffreys
2. Guinness
And if your gonna drink piss, might as well be cheap piss - Lakeport or Millwackie

Hey bud, I have been in a few times before the ATV bridges were put it. I took a Dakota and a Z71 in there. It is a pretty tough 4x4, especially for the inexperienced, There is a tractor that offers rides mostly to Americans which caused some major ruts. There is also a creek to cross that covered the hood on the dakota one time.
To be honest, its a pretty hammered lake nowadays. Your bud may be better off picking another off the 'Backroads map" and go from there. JMO.

I have admired your pics for a long time. I still have the orange sunset one you sent me a few years ago in Hi-res framed in my house. Beauty fish.

Great to hear, good luck with it!

Are you willing to make a little drive east of TO?

As L2p wrote, do NOT fish the Goodyear dam, or ANY other dam area for that matter.
As for salmon techinques, type in floatfishing in the search option on this board, wealth of info.
Good luck

Awesome picture! Dog got a serious work out right there!

I wouldn't leave that spot until I poked a solid fish out of it. The pictures just screams good fish live here. Bet there was atleast one more in that weedbed.
Thanks for sharing.

Thanx Guys I love this Quote but my boater may not like that, I made the team as a Non Boater so will be limited to the amount of room they give me,
Sorry, just saw you are a non boater. (above post is SMB)
If you hop in with a LMB guy
1,2,3 rods - Extra heavy flipping stick - 80lb braid - topwater frog bait. (you'll probably be back boated, this is a wicked bait to open up more water for you to fish and for following up and fishing the same water your boater just fished)
4 - 17lb flouro - spinnerbait / buzzbait (same reason as above when your out of the junk)
5 - 50lb flipper/pitch rod - incase you can deck fish with your boater.
If your boater wants to mix it up during the day, you best get a tube like Henry said
Hope this helps.
Brian, their on fire! lol

If it was me.
5 Rods.
1- 6lb flouro - drop shot
2 - 8 lb flouro - 1/8 tube
3- 8 lb flouro - 1/4 tube
4- 20lb braid - jerkbait
5 - 20lb braid - topwater (sammy/pop r)
Find the deepest weedlines you can adjacent to deep water. Find 5 or 6 stretches of them and rotate.
Just something else to try.
Good Luck

Thanks for the offers guys, what a great bunch.
Looks like Greg(Slayimg'n) and I will be heading down together. Is there a place we are meeting up for a BBQ after the Sat fish?
-
Wow... I can't believe you remembered that!!!
Sitting on the roof of the hotel...the birth of Jumla!
JP turning the BBQ gas on full and then trying to find his lighter...all of us backing up slowly with each unsuccessful attempt at getting his lighter to start... then all of us about 20 feet away asking him if he really wanted to do that... I think he called us a few names just before his lighter finally sparked and the lid from the BBQ landed in the parking lot..still laugh my butt off thinking about it and the 'burnt on the outside, raw on the inside' sausages he served up. Then everyone fighting the four foot waves the next morning trying not to puke...
That was hilarious Rick! I felt so sorry for those guys, 4 fters didnt help. We still caught 60 something pounds for our five fish that day, thank god I said no to the "sausage".
Playing guitar with DouG was a blast and listening to the knowledge Terry had to share around the fire was priceless.

I'd love to go, been a couple years since I have been to a m2Gt. I dont have a boat right now, but have all the equipment if someone is looking for a partner. Plus I have some knowledge of BofQ
Actually alot of knowledge.

Nice Steve, deep huh!
I've NEVER had a scuplin or goby spit up on Simcoe before Cool pic. Gives me a bit more confidence in some baits I was wanting to try.
Thanks for sharing that pic.

Sounds good GB love to try the NY stuff, my bro and I dabbled with different things to avoid freezing without much success. Well, except for our singles.
Kush, a trick we used for early season (skein) fish was to borrow your Mrs. Panty hose. After landing the fish put the skein in the hose and put it in the river for a while. Firms it up a bit and makes it cut/hookable. Little borax and good to go. Best to replace the panty hose too.

Thanks Harrison, the 6-10 ft. breaks is the info i was looking for. Was thinking of jerkbaits and spinnerbaits maybe will throw inline spinners as well. The topwaters all day at this time of year is a given. Thanks!
No prob. GPS Cords for the Pigeon Lake giant SMB spot would be a suffice thank you.
-
Hmmm...so should I be chuck topwater frogs out there in the dark? Let me know!
The topwaters that caught the eyes were mimicking fish.
If using a frog lure would give you more confidence, go for it.
But, IMHO, I don't think the fish care.
IF the lure has the right silhouette, causes the right commotion (not too much/little) and right sizing for conditions - your golden. Especially with topwaters in 2 /3 ft of water.
More lures are made to catch fishermen, then fish.

Being a frog guy and having took amphibian courses in University, I say it's still early for frogs to migrate to hibernation areas.
It's getting to 10-13C overnight and you can still hear the odd green frog calling out.
From what I saw on the water recently on one Kawartha lake, the fish would disagree with the Theroy part of it.
-
Ehg, topwaters will get fish all day. Try a variety of baits off the breaks in 6 - 10ft. Inline spinners, senkos, jerkbaits, tubes etc... for SMB.
Pike, find weed, throw jerkbait / spinnerbait.
-
Ribbet, Ribbet
The migration is on.
Nice haul, you can have a blast with the crappie using a float and night stik when the bite dies off for the eyes.
-
Looks like someone gave him highlights with the bait dye they sell at BPS!
Funny, I was thinking the same thing JP.

Not a huge fan of bear meat either... but smoked in strips or as jerky combined with crackers etc. make great snacks.

There are a few up around the cottage between MacTier and Parry sound. What bothers me the most is they are not spooked in the least. Actually climbed over the hood of a buddies new Z71 to get to garbage in the box, scratched it up pretty good couple w/e ago.
I have 2 young children and wicked aim.

Nice fish yeah, what's Phil doing in that pic?
Awe, shucks. You remember me.

Same here Rick, though it is my lil girls. I take the Go Train to work, the less I can bring home, the better.
