nice job, you deffinately picked a nice day for it. How deep were you guys fishing?
-
depends on what you want to fish for, couple spots within 20 mins from there. drop me a PM

i would highly suggest checking what ever reel you're going to buy whether its the diawa or the curado on ebay before you purchase it. In most cases it will be cheaper if you buy it online from an auction. review the feedback and buy wisely, the only downfall is waiting for it to come in the mail. it might be worth it to check out

ya i bought the pointer 100 in the winter as well, i had a chance to use it once fishing for pike in the harbour. It casts amazing, retrieves consistent, and darts erractically. You can deffinately tell its no $7 jerk bait, wouldnt be able to tell you if its worth the money because i actually lost mine before i had a chance to catch anything

i think its great!!!! it shows how mass media objectifies women and glorifies materialistic B. S.! kudos to alanis for displaying that cleary with the most retarded video ive ever seen. lol -
anyone else ever try the Super Braid by Stren? I personally think its better then Power pro, stays rounder, casts jsut at far and maintains its coating much longer the PP. Ive been using power pro for approximately four full seasons and have found that PP loses its shape and coating after a couple weeks use, but last iyear i decided to try a couple new types of line, Fireline being one of them, which i personally didnt like at all, and also the STREN and im sticking to it, i feel extremely confident with the product. http://tackledirect.com/stren-super-braid-fishing-line.html

Fished woods bay for bass in the fall and it was awsome!, whatcha fishing for this time of year?
-
ya i was out yesterday and eperienced the same thing, TONS of guys!!!! good to hear you got into fish though, hooking them is the best part, landing them is a bonus.

its funny you ask about this lodge, i walked by it yesterday on the way out to some trout grounds for some late season trout on the ice. It was completely boarded up, and obviosuly shut down for the season. The cottages look ok, worn down from the winter i am assuming. There were about 15 cottages and a main lodge. Im sorry i cant tell you about the accomodatons becasue ive never actually stayed at the lodge but I do know they have some nice big safe looking aluminum hauls for the sometimes unpredictable waters of georgian bay.

Ive herd so many good things about that reserve, my father went a couple times last summer and he told me numerous stories of catching monsters eyes, lakers and big smallies. HE never went into any of the back lakes for specks but he deffinately passed a couple stories about them. Im heading up there in May this year, the opening weekend, and we're planning to catch some big pike, eyes and specks. I would think thats the best time for numbers. any suggestions on techniques?

bummer to hear about your trip tonyB, i had a feeling it would turn out that way. That operator you went with disapointed me a couple years back and i vowed to myself i would never use him again. Not all operators are like that up there, Bluewater outfitters(i believe) is normally a little better on keeping clients on fish depending on snow/ice conditions they move their bungalows to different locations. The best bet for next time, if there is a next time, is to go with a mode of transportation to get to untouched spots. A sled or atv is essential to stay ontop of fish if they arent around. sorry to hear about your trip, maybe next year
-
well it depends on how much you use it, Ive done what lew said(reverse the line) and basically saved from buying another spool. But if you have the money for new line and its going to boost your confidence, why not ?

tomor shouldbe a nicer day out, temps warming up
-
that year there was no problem with slush so we drove directly to the huts and park right beside them
-
i stayed exactly where your going!! the only thing we caught were ling in the evening. THe huts are cool but the fishing stunk. we had the same thing, he said there are walleye in the other hut and lakers in the bungalow. If you keep walking on the other side of the bungalow it gets close to 100ft i think, but we had trouble getting and lakers at all. tip-ups, spreaders, minnows, spoons everything. couldnt get anything until we moved to another spot just off the ice highway into temagami. We didnt have a sled so it was hard to move around but this other spot produced. it was just off the road where we parked the truck. as soon as we started fishing this other spot we were into fish so it all depends where you are. i also have heard from close friends of mine that there are a lot of crusing suspended lakers so be sure to keep an eye on your sonar and a minnow or spoon ready to drop down.
-
have a good time, theres tons of fish in that lake. the experience ive had there, is to make sure your moving around if there arent any fish under you hole. I know it sounds basic but sometimes the hunt operators leave the huts in one place all season no matter the quality of the fishing. Its to your benefit if you can get an atv or sled to check out different spots if the action slows. what operator are you using?
-
if i tell you i'd have to kill you..lol
-
lots of them in the lakes, these ones were all natural reproducing fish. I didnt notice any clippings

went out the last week to the haliburton area and managed to get into some small lakers. it was fun since we only fished for approx 4hrs and were into them all day. Didnt have to wake up at 5am and drive tired which was also a bonus. All fish were caught between 30-50 ft. moving around over different structure was the main idea for the day as the efforts paid off. Rock piles, humps and shouls were key areas. 15 fish were landed with spoons and minnows, half dozen lost on the way up. enjoy...
-
we got into some fish like that last week over on gull lake, in minden. Same depth as well. i wonder if you move around, when the bit is off, to some deeper water if it'll pay off? did you guys try that?
-
all good, make sure the sonar is charged up, it'll definately help you guys. look for structure anywhere in 25-50ft and i garauntee action. rock shouls and rocks piles are key
-
haha you should have brought the auger out to wet a line and pass some time on the rideau!! lol

happens to everyone i know, but it sucks when its you! lol oh well im going to have to roll in tomato sauce to get this skunk smell out of my tackle box!! its only on simcoe though, im having success on every other lake ive been fishing
