  1. thanks all!

if you take the time to find what you're looking for, and spend some hours cleaning them up, its amazing what you can find in the pallets. The hardest part is pulling them apart without snapping the boards

from the pile of skids, i also got some nice ash, and some beachwood as well

  2. itd basically the same response a pup has when it leaves the mother for the final time, fear, anxiety, nervousness, something with the owner scent on it will help a lot with that, just like having something with moms scent on it helps with puppies.

Its tough to watch. try getting the dog active, either with another dog, or just playing in the yard

  3. Some of you may remember way back to earlier this year, I was in search of some pallets/skids to break down and build a coffee with. Well thanks to one of the members here, I was able to collect a few skids, and get some pretty decent quality wood to build it with.

After pulling them apart, I took the boards over to a friends to have them refined, had all the edges jointed, and the thickness planed down. After planing them all down, with all the dirt removed from the face of the boards, the beautiful wood was revealed, a nice oak!!!

I glued all the boards together to get the top

The legs are made from spruce which were cut from 3 x 6 x 8ft rough cut boards and sanded down smooth

We chose to go with the outside leg configuration

Here it is all stained up, with all the edges routered down to remove the shard corners and the legs as well

    And the finished top

all thats left to do is to varnish it

  4. Yep, we are all treated as if we have no brain cells. We all heard the one about the lady suing McDonalds for big money because she spilled hot coffee on herself. I recently watched a documentary about it. She needed skin grafts on her legs, it was bad.

how about the person the won against Winebego cause she put it on cruise control then went to the back to make a sandwich and it crashed

  5. When I'm in an area that is new to me, I put a memo in my phone with the slot sizes and limits. Before the phone I'd type out the regs for an area or take the page(s) from the summery that I need; have them laminated and tossed in the boat.

why not just toss the whole book in your boat? that way you never have to worry about forgetting to bring it with you

  6. If someone is a movie buff the Scotia Bank Scene card is the way to go. Bring an extra 50 to buy a pail of Pop Corn and a barrel of Soda Pop. We have stored many free movies on the cards but very few movies now that we are interesting enough to eat all that Styrofoam. The last we saw was the Whitey Bolger(sic) story. I can say Johnny Depp looked like him. The latest flop from Tinsle Town. I do not enjoy paying 3 bucks to take out any amount of money, I think the worst hit was 10 bucks at a Miami Mariot's bank machine years ago. So what exactly is free, nada.

Star Wars is big this week. I remember seeing a trailer on screen n 76 or 77 and saying

"I gotta see that, that's no run of the mill special effects honey. Let's get to the Disco."

100% yea. even the snacks are free for like 1500 points

  7. I would say that it would be nearly impossible, for these 2 reasons,

1: that would require the seller to be proactive on their ad, and actually take it down when the item sells

2: the sellers lowest price isn't what they think it is, negotiations are different with everyone

  8. make sure you really moisten the line before locking the knot down, the friction is more then enough to weaken the line

I was the palomar for some lures, but everything else i use the improved clinch. I use the surgeons knot for joining 2 lines together, great for replacing tippets.

  9. Like I said G.mech, just like being on a crown land camp site you have to move your "house boat" at least 100 M every 21 days.

technically it does move 100m in 21 days with out having to pull up anchor lines.....if you combine the amount of movement from wave action, it should add up to that over 21 days LOL now try explaining that to the feds

  10. I understand that Lew but I'm just stating that in the actually law emergency service workers are exempt. And yes the MDT can be a distraction. That is why we aren't consequence free.

now heres a story, was driving home from work mid October, at night, was car length behind a cruiser, he somehow managed to read, and type my plate number in his computer, to find out my sticker was out of date (which it was at the time) and then slow down to get behind me and pull me over.

extremely distracted driving imo, typing, while trying to read my license plate in his mirror at night.

  11. They make it seem like they are in the middle of no where, reallity is they are on Jolliffe Island, right next to Yellowknife. so they really aren't far from getting any sort of help. so thats something you really need to consider as well. The only ones that are out on their own are the ones that moved to Vee Lake.

    heres the satellite image.

  12. So you know who David Chong is right? I spoke to a distributor today who he works with for the “Catch a Dream!” Kids Fishing Derby and they offered me to help you hook up the kids. How many rods and reels are needed and are they all spinning or do you need some spincast too? PM me when you can.

I do not know who David Chong is, but that is awesome, Im not sure how many are needed exactly, she just said anything to replace the broken ones would be appreciated. I would think in the neighbourhood of a dozen would be good. They have been using spinning reels, so to keep things easy, probably just spinning reels
