  1. Outstanding pictures Joey !!
  2. Always nice when your recognized for doing something well Dave !!
  3. You've got that right Roger, I'm so busy now I wouldn't have time for a job, but that's the way I like it.
  4. My plans for the weekend have changed but maybe I'll get out one day next week. Being retired and living in the heart of the Kawarthas and surrounded by muskies though, missing opening day isn't such a big deal
  5. You pretty well summed it all up right there Dave !!
  6. Yeah, but we can vote him out, we have no say in the weather doods
  7. And the worst part it these guys doing the predicting are probably well paid for their efforts. Is there any other job in the country where your paid for being wrong on a very regular basis ??
  8. Threads like this are really enjoyable as it shows how we all have different like & dislikes and vastly different preferences for our gear. It'd be a pretty boring world if we all liked the same thing !!
  9. If I'm alone in the boat in warm weather it's usually bare feet, anyone else along and I'll put on sandals. When the weather gets cold it's either my Gortex lined Soloman hiking boots or the lined rubber boots.
  10. Warm weather months is casting large bucktails, spinnerbaits & jerkbaits for muskies and when it gets colder it's lotsa trolling with big body baits.
  11. Why do you need to be constantly on the move Roger ?? When I'm working a weedline, rock outcrop or any kind of structure for that matter, I'll sit on a spot and fan cast to every nook & cranny that may hold a fish, and after I've covered every spot, then I'll move along a bit. If you need a motor to keep you constantly on the move your gonna be missing alot of prime spots and good fish. My boat came with a Terova but I told him the deal would only go thru if he swapped it out for a Fortrex. Slow down and smell the roses...or fishes... my friend
  12. Either that Roy or I'm just full of useless knowledge
  13. The word is actually cubit...with a T... and is the distance from your elbow to the tip of your fingers....and I have absolutely no idea why I know that
  14. Only a few more days till monster fish time
  15. We had wet snow here a couple days ago Dan but nuthin like you've got up your way....thankfully
  16. Huge head on that one Ryan
  17. Probably hitting Pigeon on Saturday
  18. Best wishes for a speedy recovery for your wife Bruce.
  19. Next time we fish together Pete, you better hang a name tag around your neck so I know who the heck you are
  20. Great looking pup for sure Pete. He won't replace Ben but you'll love the little guy just as much.
  21. Pickerel are just like bass or pike or musky or any other darned fish in that they'll hit just about anything that swims past their face. They don't care if it's a worm, a spinnerbait or even a big ole wooden jerkbait.
  22. When my brother and I were kids we rigged up a sail with a bed sheet and 2x2's on our canoe and had a ball with it. Only trouble was we never figured out how to sail back home again into the wind so we always ended up doing ALOT of paddling. Thirty minutes to sail with the wind pushing us one way, but 2 hours to paddle back.
  23. Nova Scotia is also a beautiful place and a great spot for a vacation, specially if you spend a few days touring Cape Breton.

As for BPS, I've only been there 6 or 8 times and not at all for a couple years now, but I've always had good experiences and never had a problem with any of the staff. I normally know what I'm looking for and don't really need anyones help, but it's always been good.
  25. Just watching the news coverage of the tornado and it's hard to imagine what those poor folks were going through while that monster was tearing everything apart. You can prepare for an approaching hurricane but not much you can do with only a few minutes warning of those massive tornadoes about to hit you. Really sad news !!
