  1. Oh yea hockey started, I was to wrapped up with the Blue Jays Won't it be funny if the Leafs end the Habs streak tonight
  2. Now now lets not sound like Maple Leaf fans now, I agree that Fox messed up by showing that "pop up" mistake or not. Yes the Jays lost momentum with the rain delay, but the Jays Bats were dead when their was a man in scoring positions, I don't care how many home runs you have during the season, just bunt the dam ball. If the Jays had gotten home field would it have made a differences? If they did, they would still have to win games in KC because you can't take anything away from KC pitching, after all they do have a stronger pull pen. Plus the Jays would have needed two wins in KC, would have been a tough task. Regardless bad calls, conspiracies it was great to see the city and country get behind the Jays, now hopefully come April they will still be cheering the team on I'm glad that I was able to get to Game 3 to watch them play, and see another in early September. I have never felt so much energy in any sports venue in the city. I'm looking forward to the up coming off-season and seeing what the team does with the new president coming in.
  3. That is better, but look at my last post to see what we are talking about
  4. That is why I have NF (Not Fishing) in the title line. But with both of your guys comments it make me want to go to Marathon, Ontario to fish now
  5. The funny thing is Tough Mudder is what got me back into running and training for it back in 2012 when it first came to Toronto. It was a fun run and Obstacle Course Races have exploded in popularity in recent years, with the Spartan Race series and Warrior Dash just to name a few others. all the best for your Half Marathon, if you want or need any tips feel free to PM me
  6. As promised here are some pictures from race day This is the final few moments before I cross the finish Just to show that I at least got something out of running 42.2 km
  7. Thanks Brian, I also did Cross country back in high school, just didn't have to run thru any farm fields. Yes I love the feeling of getting my second wind and for most of the shorter distances I run 5-10km I always seem to get one. You can ask Jermey84 just how competitive we get at these runs, more so you can ask him how much I have improved over the last coupe of years, especially this year.
  8. Well now that my Marathon is over, I guess I'll go try and upgrade my teams musky entry

What do you mean we aren't fishing together

  9. The past 4 months of fishing really hasn't existed for me because I had been too busy training for this past weekend Toronto Waterfront Marathon. There are only a few members that know that my passion for running and having an active lifestyle is one of my biggest passions, even more so then fishing, and yes I know this is funny because this report is on a fishing forum. Prior to the run this past Sunday, I had ran in 15 runs. 7 road races, 7 obstacle course races and 1 duathlon. The Sydenham Duathlon was my highlight because it was my first one and I managed to finish second in my age group Males 30-34. The training was my main focus and I cranked it up the last 2 months to ensure that I would be able to finish the grueling 42.2km course that laid ahead of me. However this past spring, a person close to me was battling thru depression and I thought that if they could battle this that I would have no problem running a Full Marathon. So I signed up for the Toronto Waterfront Full Marathon, which was held this past Sunday ( Oct 18 2015). Every year Scotiabank puts on a charity challenge for the marathon and little did I know while I was signing up for the marathon that one of the featured charities was The Ontario Shores Foundation for Mental Health. So I felt like it was only fitting to pick this charity to raise the money for. So in Late April it was official that I was going to be running in the Marathon, now In the past I had ran in the Toronto Waterfront Half in 2012 and in the 5k last year 2014 RACE WEEKEND It was a great experience and accomplishment that I have to thank fellow board member Jeremy84 for getting me into these races. Overall it was a great race weekend from the expo to race day itself. It was a very long day, starting with getting down to the event early to avoid the chaos (26,000 runners) and get a parking spot as close to the event as I could. The start area is still one of the best out there, having the event site in one corner, the washrooms (port-a-potties) lining one side of the starting chute. The corrals where well marked and the course marshals and volunteers in each corral where excellent and well informed, at least in the green corral. At most of the big runs like this one they have pace bunnies, who are there to run the course in a certain time at a certain pace. I decided to run the race with the 4:25 marathon run/walk bunny. I was able to keep pace with her and the group of fellow runners for the first 23km, before I had to slow down to shake out some muscle stiffness. Somewhere in the following 2 km my knee started to act up, so it slowed me down, to a pace that made me doubt if I’d be able to finish. At the first aid station I went to the First Aid workers did not have any tape. I was finally able to get it taped up around the 32km if I remember right. They got me taped up and I was able if not for the tape I know I wouldn’t have been able to finish. I was warned of the dark places that my mind was going to go to during the race, and as I right this I know there are parts of the race that I just can't recall because I was mentally zapped. With that there were a few people out on the course that were there to run people in to the finish, so I had one of them run with me to help me with that final push. I'm thrilled that I managed to push thru the pain of my knee being blown out and all my muscle screaming at me to stop. I was hoping to have a finished with the 4 hour and 25 minute pace that I started with however I finished the race in 5 hours 5 minutes and 43 seconds. 3 days later and it is finally sinking in that I ran a full marathon. I decided to make this report for those wondering where I have been over the last few months. Pictures to come

  20. Thanks everybody it was one fun day and it took another to recover for being up for 21 hours straight. I'm looking forward to catching one while casting after seeing just how hard they hit your lures on the two skis you caught. Thanks for an another amazing day of fishing Pete. From the catfish trips the last two year and now to this, I have now caught 3 PB's while fishing with you.
  21. Of course not doing my byte on the first fish, and with this one fish having that much engry i thought why not so. After a few hours of nothing we decided to pack up and move to another lake. So once we made it to the new lake, Lake # 2 Peter informed me that we would only be tossing which was fine by me because it gave me more practice on my new bait caster and also on figures 8s and other pattens he was suggesting I try out. At our 4th spot on the lake Pete caught a monster of his own and tops my tournament entry by 1" at 43" The last fish of the day came at the last spot where Pete was sure we would have a fury of action, but it was just the single fish that came in at 40 1/4" So after from an early wake up 2:45 am til the time a got home 11:30pm, the day we had made every second, every birds-nest wroth it.
  22. I'm quest for catching a musky started 4 years ago with Jeremy84 in the Kawarthas. That is were I lost what me and Jeremy were sure was a musky because nothing before then had bent my rod to its breaking point before. Last year also with Jeremy and on the same lake in the Kawarthas while fishing for bass, on one of my casts I over shot the area I wanted my wacky worms to go, so I powered reeled it back in and as it was boat side, WHAM SPLASH something big hit it and broke the pre-tied set up i was using and knew then that I just lost what would have been my first musky. So after that I went into a musky gear buying friendzy, buying both a trolling and casting rod off the classifieds as well as a trolling reel. i purchased a casting ABU C3 from BPS. Pete (Fisherpete), introduced me to a friend of his who make his own inlines so i made a custom order. After being outbid in the Tyler Auction this year for the musky trip, I spoke with Pete and hired him to take me out for some Kawartha Musky. Trip day (June 13 2015) After a real chaotic week of work a much needed fishing day was finally here for me. Speaking with Pete throughout the week leading up made each day feel like a kid waiting for Santa to come. Like a kid on Christmas eve I went to bed super early, mainly because the time I had to be up at but also because it also meant that morning would come sooner. So I was planing on being up at 3:00 in the morning ended waking up at 2:45 to have a quick coffee, go to the bank then make the trip from Halton Hills out to Whitby. After packing up Pete escape and ensure we had everything we needed it was off to McDonald's for breakfast then off to the first lake of the day. Once we ere at Lake # 1 we spent a good part of the morning tossing some of the inline lures. I did have something swipe at my one inline at one point but we figured it was another species because it did not follow the lure back in. After no success we decided to do some trolling along a weed bed that it on the edge of a bowl. Which we still failed to catching anything. At this point of the day decided to try a point on the lake where Pete has had luck in the past and tossed a variety of lures before packing up and taking the show to another side of the lake and boy was it a good idea. We started off trolling the one part of the lake and not even 10 mintues after moving, Wham had a fish on using a spinbait. My adrenaline skyrocketed and as we were able to see the fish in the water coming up from the depths. Moments later I had my first ever Musky in my hands, and it measures 31 1/2" which would have been my team ( team 6) first musky entry of the year. So I did not do my normal "byte" on this one as we wanted to get the fish back in the water so I kissed it godbye and we were off on another pass of the troll were we had what would have been the second one on however it shook the hook before as Pete was pass me the rod. about 50 yards later another fish was on and we weren't about to loose this one and boy am I glad we didn't because it gave me my first Kawartha 40"+ and gave me an upgrade at 42" After about what must have been an hour of nothing, once again a musky hit the spinnerbait and this time it put up a bit more of a fight and had lots of energy. It measured at 32"
