  1. Thanks to John but no Chris, it's more like going to Zeller's to buy new jeans.
  2. Just a great, great fish Larry. Congrats to you. You know where they live and you're good at what you do. Thanks for sharing that. Give me a hint, was there a steeple left on the cutting room floor?
  3. It'll be fine like that, Cliff. I'd get it as close to the light as possible without rubbing up against it. I've found though that I've always needed to install the 12" pole light when there's a bowmount motor involved otherwise the starboard light is not visible to others.
  4. John Ozolins and I don't see eye to eye. Yes folks, he's much taller than I am. However, whether you agree with his and Chris' actions or not, it's still your own opinion to which you have a right. The important thing that I see here is that they were there when all of this happened and they made a decision. They did SOMETHING. It's easy to sit back after the fact and nit pick over what shoulda/coulda been done. I also think that it's human nature to try to help other living things. So, for that I congratulate them for at least doing what they thought was right under the circumstances.
  5. I love happy endings.
  6. Thanks for putting that together Bud. Another good bit of memories for us. Good tune too!
  7. Happy birdie to you Peter. Have the bestest day!
  8. Good point, Billy Bob.
  9. Glenn, you might have to only zoom in one 'notch' at a time until you get used to the map positioning. My guess is that you are going in next to the map. I was using that exact same chip last night, same area also. Works great. If you continue to have problems, pop by my place and we'll go through it. Just PM me.
  10. It was a pleasure seeing all three of you having a good time Marty. Great seeing you and Ed again and just super meeting up with the big guy, Dawson.
  11. They're just doing their work and having a good time doing it, Largemouth. They're also very nice people who support and sponsor this site as well. They are also friends of mine.
  12. Lotsa folks think that muskie fishing is a serious sport. Well I got news for you. Marc Thorpe, John Gillespie, Pete Maina and Pete's dad "Tex" are filming this week. Those guys have fun on the water. So much fun in fact that they try to never have to get off the water. They're filming for a few days this week. This is Pete's newest invention. And Marc, well, what can I say about Marc....direct from the Highlands of Quebec... But, with all the shenanigans going on out there, they still produce more than anyone I've ever seen. Those shows will surely be required viewing this winter. Certainly good for a belly laugh and maybe even a few muskie tips. I might be lucky enough to hook up with them this weekend...now where did I put my dwarf suit???
  13. Indeed, the best prize table since our beginnings. All of these people stepped up to the plate to help us with our June get together no questions asked and were very generous. Reciprocity is a good thing! Some of us already buy these products or subscribe to their services. It'd be very nice to, when shopping for products or services, consider the list of people who contributed to OUR cause when the time came. Thanks again everyone.
  14. Beauty pics Chris. I'm kinda partial to the last two. Thanks for showing them.
  15. I hear ya Norm....I don't even make myself a lunch in the mornings anymore...just in case....
  16. You're right, Don and Ruth's boat is one of the finest made boats I've ever seen. Just beautiful craftsmanship. Thanks for those pics Joe.
  17. I'm thinking the same thing , Lew but if Cliff can get the ply much more easily and work with it himself with run of the mill tools and make it just as sturdy....well, it's an option at least.
  18. I'd use 1/2" or 5/8" securely bolted to the nose. You can also use regular ply and treat it yourself with Thompson's or one of those products. Then place the mount on the ply exactly where you want it and mark the holes to be drilled out. You can also get fancy and cover the ply with the same or similar carpeting that you have in your boat. You can also put in a vertical piece of ply under the end of the larger piece to use as both a brace and drilled out to install the motor power receptacle.
  19. Yes J ace, I have it on another Navionics chip. I PMd Stoty about it.
  20. Quarter inch is not sheet but plate, Cliff. That's why it's so expensive. Quarter inch is wayyyyyyyyyy overkill. You might want to consider marine ply, cut and bolted to the nose. Then drill the ply in the appropriate areas, drop the bolts down through and fasten with large washers and lock nuts.
  21. Yeah but we're not dealing with an ordinary individual here, Brian.
  22. No it doesn't Stoty and neither does the lake maps show it. This map might help you a little though. http://www.sandlakecampground.on.ca/sandlakemap.cfm
  23. Way to go Dynamic Duo!
  24. My GPS ant. does NOT draw power when the unit is off.
  25. Was nice meeting you Mike and Cindy. Glad you had a good time up there.
