Saturday afternoon/evening Ducks on Rice?
Billy Bob replied to RangerGuy's topic in General Discussion
PM SINKER......he's the guy you're looking for.... -
Also, some guys are much more en-tuned with what is going on in a particular lake and know how to fish it much better then most that don't catch much and complain the population is WAY down... I have personally experience that many times on Oneida Lake while walleye fishing......we're hitting a shallow rock pile RIGHT IN FRONT of a fishing lodge, catching limits in all 3-4 of our boats just before light...and watch boat after boat go right on by us searching for walleyes elsewhere....then we motor into their docks and have breakfast at the lodge/cottages they are renting, only to hear how bad the fishing is when some of them return....then after breakfast we cleaned up our catch using their fish cleaning station and they all want to know where we caught them...of course we told them......in the lake...

That was just the dog peeing down your leg......

When the boy moved to Virginia last week he dropped off 2 of his guns for me to put in the safe....So I'm back up to 13 long guns and one side arm....and every time I see my caliber or shotgun shells on sale I purchase some more......so right now I have between 3000 and 4000 rounds of ammo...nothing spectacular but enough for a storm of this "caliber"....

Hatches batted down......generator full of expensive gasoline....all extra gas cans filled with expensive gasoline.....wood is dried and stacked in the wood shed....6 cords to be exact....PLENTY of food in the freezer and the pantry....BRING IT ON MOTHER NATURE....I can handle whatever you got...

Have either of you boys watched "American Pickers"......many of the places they stop at have so much "STUFF" you can't even walk in some of those buildings... http://www.history.com/shows/american-pickers/videos/american-pickers-mikes-breakdown

In 1983 with my wife I rode out a 150 mile per hour TORNADO in the cottage we built ourselves...BTW she was 8.5 months pregnant at the time...was thinking of naming my oldest son "Gale"... The tornado lifted the cottage up right off the foundation and set it back down kitty corner to the cellar...if we would of walked out the front door we would have fallen 8' down into the basement...

I would of swore we were going to witness him have a heart attack...

BELIEVE IT OR NOT we have some closet P3TA folks among us...they, might not even realize it themselves... 95% of the time the reason you have poor population of fish and the lack of good fishing is NOT because of ANGLER fishing but many environmental factors instead...some we understand and many we don't. And then out of the blue, the problems correct themselves and we have a bumper crop of walleye, bass, crappie, etc......and then the cycle repeats itself after a couple of good years... By doing away with keeping any fish, you will no doubt lower the amount of fishermen and they are the ones FUNDING many of the programs to increase populations of fish in your area.

I have caught THOUSANDS of fish...And MANY were very large... I have only owned a handful of trucks..........

The 6000 pounds is a huge difference that what my boat weights...I'm closer to the 2000 pounds at MOST....plus I was restricted to the Canadian MPH limit of 100K or I believe about 62 MPH....the more you push it the more drag on the vehicles and then the mileage drops like a rock....and since I am only about 15 miles from the boarder pretty much all my driving was done (in the middle lane... ) at 62 miles per hour....so YES then the big difference does make some sense.

VERY nice WALLEYE.......the only problem with catching it on the first cast, you (should) know the rest of the day will never match that... I need to catch a friggin fish......but it's DUCK SEASON as of tomorrow. Good Luck, Bob

Sometimes it DON'T Pay to help a fellow boater

YES it would.... -
Just scroll down to the 4th last paragraph and read from there... http://www.buffalonews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20121025/CITYANDREGION/121029427/1010 For those who notified me having trouble with the link I copied and pasted the part I'm referring to...this is right from the Buffalo News (paper). At 12:20 p.m., boaters trying to help a fellow boater ended up submerged at the Wilson Pier. Sheriff James R. Voutour said two men in a motorboat tried to help a sailboat, which had become grounded at the pier. “The sailboat was running the engine full bore, since they were stuck, and once they came free [the sailboat] catapulted past the motorboat, spinning it around, and started to pull it backwards, which took it right under water,” Voutour said. No injuries were reported. Wilson volunteer firefighters helped sheriff’s deputies aid the boaters. The U.S. Coast Guard and Olcott Volunteer Fire Department were called to remove the overturned boat.

OH....I would of thought that the Ford Eco-Boost would give you even better mileage then that...I would of bet it would of beat my Tundra in mileage....in comparison my Tundra that came with the tow package has a rear end axle ratio of 4:11.....it's a figgin brute for towing anything... On a recent trip to Ontario I filled up here and towed my boat to a small lake near Parry Sound, Ontario.....I filled up just before Parry Sound at a gas station right off Rt69 just before Rt 518...so that was if I remember correctly 235 miles up to that point....I filled up and I squeezed in 50 litres...now correct if I'm wrong with this math....so I divided the 50 litres to get gallons...50/3.78 = 13.22 USA gallons (right... )....then divided the 235 miles by the 13.22 gallons and I got 17.77 miles per USA gallons...My Tundra is a Double Cab 4X4 with the 4.7 litre engine and a 5 speed automatic tranny with 4:11 rear end axle....this truck has a towing capacity of 8000 lbs.

I thought the same thing at FIRST....but after a couple of basic rip off Kissimee/Orlando bass charters I thought I would try the Disney charters...the one in the big lake that Fort Wilderness is on was better then the Onrlando charter and it was another bass boat type charter...but then I wanted to take my whole family on one....boys were around 12 and 10 years old...new about the Market Place lake and that they used pontoon boats and a lot of room for all of us.......had a late morning time booked but the day before they called and said the early morning time opened up and recommended it over all other times.....so we jumped on it and EVERYONE one caught bass between 5 and HONEST 7 pounds....they basically give you LARGE minnows (really like Golden Shiners about 7" long) and hook then on with a spit shot or two ahead of the bait...then SLOWLY troll (I'm thinking with a electric trolling motor but can't really remember) along the weed edges of the lake....we must of caught between 8-12 LARGE largemouth during a 2 hour charter.. -
I know what your getting at.......both either of what happens on Nov 6th...gas prices will still continue to FALL...I will bet you not one but 2 DOZEN nightcrawlers our gas prices continue to fall until maybe the week of our Thanksgiving, as those days are the busiest travel days in the U.S.A. of all year long....then again continue to drop....UNLESS there is some Bull crappola insistent in the middle east...

What you are describing here fits to a "T" for Disney....there are hotels right there near the lake....the BEST lake Disney has to offer, believe it or not is right in what they call Downtown Disney or some still refer to it as the "Market Place".......it's much better then the larger lake that Fort Wilderness is on and the ferry takes you across to Disney's "Magic Kingdom".... So if it's Florida take a serious look at fishing the lake at the Market Place/Downtown Disney....MANY other things right there to do beside fish...many 3-5 STAR hotels within walking distance of the "Market Place/Downtown Disney....here a couple links for you... http://bookwdw.reservations.disney.go.com/ibcwdw/en_US/specialOfferDetails?name=Promo&promotionCode=fy09fishing&market=fy09fishing http://www.wdwplanner.com/fishing.htm The last one on the above link is what I was referring to.....BTW if ALL POSSIBLE get the MORNING CHARTER....much cooler and the lake has settled down all night long from other boat traffic and you will be the only one out there at that hour. Also Hotels right there..... http://www.downtowndisneyhotels.com/orlando-hotels-winter-sale?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=low-winter-rates&utm_campaign=winter2012-promo&src=AdWords&ad=59427&network=Search&kw=downtown%20disney%20hotel%20deals&st='>http://www.downtowndisneyhotels.com/orlando-hotels-winter-sale?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=low-winter-rates&utm_campaign=winter2012-promo&src=AdWords&ad=59427&network=Search&kw=downtown%20disney%20hotel%20deals&st= http://www.downtowndisneyhotels.com/ -
With the way gas prices are, you should of told her it was cheaper to buy a new truck with a full tank of gas then fill up the one you have... Actually our gas prices are FINALLY coming down....down her 10 cents to now $3.99 per gallon....but my son just moved to Virginia and gas there is only $3.23 per gallon and their expecting it to drop below $3...maybe even close to $2.50 per gallon as the weeks go on.

Paul, Cindy and I send our deepest condolences to you and your family...our prayers are with her and you. We are the same age so I know how it is to be parent-less....I lost my mom way back in 1984 and my dad in 2001, a month after 9/11.... Bob & Cindy
