  1. My son and I took a drive to Welland recently and I seen some cars parked on the side of the road. It was by a bridge, on Hwy 406, just north of Welland. I decided to stop and check it out. I did see one guy fishing, by the train tracks, but he didn't have much luck. I was wondering if anyone here has any experience fishing any stretches of the Welland River? Is it any good, what kind of fish can be expected? Just thought I might check it out since it is fairly close to my house.

  2. I don't own it, I do have a Crucial though, but I've picked up the Cumara and checked the feel of it more times than I can remember. Very nice rod, super light, and well worth it I'm sure of it. I say go for it.

  3. Nice haul there, especially from somewhere local. Funny, I was thinking about hitting there a couple days ago, looks like I'll definitely be checking it out now. Hey Bigugli, next time yer down there, bring an extra jar of salsa, just in case I run into you. ;) And if I'm not asking too much, spaghetti sauce too. :)

Ummm....yeah...i'd say that's a nice PRIZE! Sucks to be a fisherman eh! haha

  5. Personally, I find it ignorant when people do that. But I have to say, this time of year brings out the worst type of wanna be fisherman cuz it's pretty simple to catch the fish. And some guys are just ignorant all the time, but its something unfortunately you'll have to deal with here in Canada.

I'd rather fish a spot where my chances of catching a fish are slimmer, but have to deal with very little crowds. On a side note, I fished on a pier where no one was fishing, as it turned out I caught 4 salmon, so it can payoff fishing the area's nobody is trying.

  6. First off, congratulations on the engagement Fidel!

I'd have to say, that was a stellar report mang! It's too bad you didn't get into some big water fishing, cuz I'm sure there are some brutes to be had out there. But I have a feeling that your time will come out there again. That is an experience and a half and looked like fun, I think next time it'll be more chilled for you and some big fish to be had. BTW, how was the brew out there?

  7. Been there several times and it can be pretty good. They have a man made pond there, not huge but a good size one, and a creek that runs through there too. The pond has largemouth, I've caught them up in the 3lb mark, and sunfish by the millions! The creek has loads of catfish and probably some other suprises. There is a fee to get in, probably around $7. There is a swimming area there as well. It's worth a check, good luck.

  8. I found the string stoppers to be better than the rubber ones, but that's just me. It's probably a good idea to have the line wet when you are sliding the stopper up that much length, it causes quite a bit of friction on the line. I've actually had the line cut right through my rubber stoppers, which is why I use the string ones.

You can also purchase clip on weights to determine how close you are to the bottom, it's great. Just clip it on to the bait you are using, ie. jig..., and let it go to the bottom, how far it pulls your bobber under indicates how much you need to adjust the stopper.

  9. I pretty much dl all my tv shows. Here's a few:

It's always sunny in philadelphia (mentioned by several, very funny show)

Jericho (no longer runs, but a fantastic show)

Top Gear (also mentioned already, great show)

The I.T. Crowd (it's british, but man it's the funniest show I've seen, helps that I'm in I.T. as well, but it's definately worth checking out even if you're not in I.T.)

The Mentalist (not a bad show, might be worth you checking out)

Now I got stuff to dl with these other shows mentioned I haven't heard of, cool.

  10. If it's just that sink I would think it's crud buildup in your trap. I heard if you try putting a tablespoon of baking soda into the drain then slowly pour in 1/4 cup of vinegar and let it stand for 30 minutes. Next run run hot water through the drain, that may help eliminate the odour. Try doing that once a week for a couple weeks. Or just take the trap off and give her a thorough cleaning or buy some over the counter stuff.

  11. Well....thanks alot for this information, very informative everyone. I will give my manual a review again, but I definately seen 1000lb towing capacity, but I now know there are some other things I must consider. I tremor the thought of towing even a small trailer...and with the ac on, hmm, might just have to wait for my next vehicle? Thanks again.

btw, I have a 2003 Ford Focus Wagon ZTW (not sure how much it differs from the other trims?)
