  1. Just wondering how you all store your terminal tackle and worm harnesses? I got so many hooks for bass, walleye, pan-fish, trout\salmon, and same for sinkers.....I'm going to totally organize my tackle this winter so some different ideas would be great. I currently use certain plano's but find the hooks still find a way into the other compartments, which drives me nuts. Plus I use that sponge tube for worm harnesses but I don't find it too effective, they always come undone. Just looking for new ideas. :)

  2. I was in my office and started hearing the desk shake, then I stood up and the whole floor was moving back and forth. I was certifiably scared. I said the my co-worker, let's get the hell outta here! That was crazy.

  3. Once again...AMAZING!!! You are a blessed man to witness such beautiful scenery in person! Good stuff. It pays to take your time posting your descriptions of your adventures....plus it helps that you are very good at converting it into text, nice work!

  4. So I purchased 4 Storm soft plastics binders last year. Figured it would be nice to organize all my plastics.... however, when I brought them out this year, I noticed the plastic bags looked kinda funny. Like it thinned out and was almost binded with the plastics. On top of that now all my plastics that were in ther have a super strong plastic smell! That's 4 full binders worth of plactics!

Has anybody else encountered this or used these binders? Hopefully dousing the plastics with Gulp spray or something can help alleviate the smell? Other suggestions welcome. Looks like next time I hit BPS I'll be picking up some new plastic sleeves.

  5. Last time I fished there I seen a water snake that had a fish in its mouth bigger than the fish I caught. But I never fished in a canoe or kayak to test the waters on the other side. I heard of pike being caught there, nothing big mind you.

Another place you can try is Chipewa Creek camp ground just outside of Smithville. I used to catch some good sized largemouth there. And it's not too far from Hamilton. Good luck.

  6. Thanks for all the info guys !!!

Should we be casting into the actual canal or on the beach sides, I don't know if there are rules and regulations for casting and fishing the actual canal where the ships pass through ?

    Thanks

I have caught sheephead on the canal side, but would fish the lake side as you are more likely to hooking into a trout or coho there. As for any different regs for the canal, no different than the lake. Just don't snag those huge ships. :)

  7. Rice is the largest Kawartha Lake - it's about 15 miles long.

It would help if we knew where you were staying and what type of boat you have access to.

Don't worry about the bass tournaments - most of those guys fish places others don't go anyway.

I'll mainly be fishing west of Grape Island. I'll have a 14' aluminum, I also have a transom mount trolling motor with depth finder. I typically fish the weed lines from Grape towards Bewdley and pretty much only troll\drift spinners w/worms, but occasionally jig.

Hot spots are welcome though :). But mainly wanted to know how the fishing has been.

  8. I have nothing to offer in the way of advice Bud but have a great time. thumbsup_anim.gif

Thanks bro, I intend to. :)

Bass tournaments this saturday & sunday.

Watch after weigh in where they take the fish to be released!

I guess I was lucky last year when I was there that I escaped a Bass tournament. Hopefully that doesn't screw up the fishing. But I can always turn my attention to panfish, which are always fun to catch, and even better to eat.
