  1. I got the Arctic Armor gloves, they are fantastic. I know Grimsby Tackle were selling the float suits at one point, or he'll at least order them for ya. The owner there said they are great float suits, he bought one himself.

  2. The next time you're there come on over a say hello to us carpers. There are usually a few of us fishing along the pier just east of the discovery centre.

I guess you fish with Mark? I first met him there while he was carping. A fine guy he is, and very informative. BTW bigugli, nice catches you got there. You got me motivated to head out there now.

  3. Man alive Glen, that is a smorgasbord of fish! At first I thought, man, nice spot, then another, then the striper.....you just couldn't stop could you. Good on you, days like that are hard to come by. Good stuff.

  4. Great shots Chris. Sigh, wish I was still there B)

Haha, funny you say that Joey. I was just telling my buddies here at work that I wish I was still there. Thanks again Chris for the invite, I enjoyed the trip with ya and would do it again anytime, of course as long as the wife ok's it. ;) With the techniques we used, I can only imagine how good the fishing would be in the summer.

  5. Easy for me, it was the summer of 2004, August to be exact, I was on my back deck, my leg in a cast after Achilles tendon surgery, and my wifes friend Julie was there too. She called her neighbour Spiel to find out what site he belongs too and he mentioned this site. I had checked it out prior to Spiel mentioning it, and thought, man, they talk alot non-fishing stuff, haha. Well, I checked it out again and never left. I think the one thing that really got me was that I posted about Banjo Minnows early in my posting day here, next thing I know, some guy from Pittsburg (Marty) and another guy from Sturgeon Falls (TJ) are sending me Banjo Minnows free O charge! Now thats class! And yes, I have caught fish off them too! I still gotta get that pic of Sheriff to prove it!

  6. Looks like I'll finally make an OFC event after 4 years being on here! After Spiel twisting my arm to come along with him ;), I was able to get the Friday and Monday off. Thanks Chris for the invite, couldn't of come at a better time. Looking forward to meeting y'all.

  7. If you are using XP, I would create a new profile all together. If you need assistance with it, I and I'm sure several others here can do so. But it sounds like you are still using the previous owners profile, so many things are attached to that profile. ie. name....settings....

  8. i use a "similar"coated line on my carp rigs... Pline evolution...

it feels gross :( it feels like plastic... but it does last...

i don't think i'll be respooling it though...

i've had it on for 3 years, so it does last...

not sure if this helps anyhow???

Hey Goran, think you maybe referring to Fins Evolution opposed to Pline evo? I've had both, but pretty sure Pline Evo came out last year. Fins on the other hand came out around 3 years ago. Fins evo is kinda like the ol Spiderwire Fusion, as Pline evo is a co-poly. They got/had it on sale at FW for $12/spool. Pretty decent line actually, very nice to jig with.

  9. That's pretty crazy, glad everything turned out all right, especially with the neighbor. Nothing like living beside somebody and having that tension, I know! But its sounds like you got pretty good with cutting up trees, I happen to have a 30' birch tree in my front yard that needs to come down, birch disease, you interested in taking on that task? ;)

I actually had something similar thing happen to me, when I bought the house I'm currently living in, I find out a month later or so my old house water main busted in the basement and flooded it. Sounds like we both got out right in time.

  10. I recall when I use to go to the Sportsmen Show in the early 90's. There would be a guy who would yell out deals out of nowhere. He would just pour out boxes of reels on the floor, stand on a table and hold a rod up....and yell out the deal, actually, the deals were absolutely fantanstic too! Not sure if they called him Lucky Lou or Crazy Lou? But I'm wondering if he owned that place? Nice find nonetheless.
