  7. Yeah my Lund has the thinner 45 degree Sporttrak so it was a new build for Dave. He came up with a great design and it is ideal. If I figure out how to post pics I will put them up.
  8. Just had Dave make me some mounts for Lund Sporttrak for Salty rod holders. Great product beautiful workmanship machined from nice thick aluminum . These are solid as a rock really great design. Mount them anywhere along the track versatile no drilling very happy with them.

  10. Looking for a good rain suit recommendations. Light breathable and durable . If you have one you love let me know about it. Thanks
  11. Toyota Sienna Mad Max Edition
  12. Yeah I need to start fishing the Niagara more its pretty convenient from Burlington. Saw some big musky cruising a bay in there but still haven't caught one.
  13. Yeah I was just trying to minimize damage to my wife myself and the boat. A big part of the boat choice was garage space as I don't want to be dealing with storage issues. The conditions I was in were nothing compared to what it could be like so I will continue to do what I did with my last boat use it up north and forget about Lake Ontario!
  14. I found at the low speed I was going the bow was high but when I tried to go a bit faster it felt bad for my back and the boat!
  15. Well I don't normally boat on Lake Ontario I was just trying to do the engine break in and they want some wide open throttle time but that wasn't going to happen! When I went on walleye central guys talk about bow up vs bow down and having the boat on plane But that didn't even seem like an option to me but people talk about the operator making a big difference in how the boat rides in chop. Not sure if a skilled operator could go faster and smoother?
  16. So I got a new Lund Rebel 1650 Sport 90 hp Mercury. I have had it out in Lake Ontario a couple times on breezy days . I was experimenting with how to best drive it to reduce slamming down and I basically ended up going 8-10 mph. I don't think the chop would have been more than 2 feet with the occasional larger swell but it sure made for an unpleasant boat ride. For those of you that have some experience on the lake with similar size rigs I would appreciate your input. I tried hitting the chop at different angles and playing with the trim but never felt I could safely go faster? It wasn't really windy but it was onshore and made for a long ride from Burlington Bay to Bronte. I am looking forward to using the boat on smaller lakes!
  17. Has anyone seen this reel? Large low profile reel they market for musky at 109.99 Thought it might be good on a jerk bait rod.
  18. Or is it .08 with .063 on top of it. That's what I thought mine is?
  19. Life is too short for crappy gear
  20. Might spend half the day trolling for musky 4-5 mph the other half on the electric not sure how much charging you get at that speed?
  21. Does anyone use this battery charger to charge the deep cycle when the big motor is running? I have always charged my battery after fishing but thought this might be a nice way to extend battery life? I have 12 volt 55lb so I guess I just need 1 bank charger? The boat has 90 hp fourstroke and I was wondering if it would charge at trolling speed? Thanks in advance
  22. Yeah I usually troll or cast for musky so I find the gps the most useful of the two.
  23. Think I might just go with what I have for now I can always upgrade it if I feel the need thanks for the input. Got a lund rebel 1650 walkthrough I think the max might be a 7 inch screen due to space. I'll see when I pick it up. Thanks for the input
  24. The boat comes with lowrance x3 and I have the elite 5 gps I was thinking of going to elite 7 but I can always add my gps which won't cost any extra. Already spent more than I planned anyways.
  25. Just wondering what people prefer pros cons? The new boat I am getting comes with a basic fishfinder I have a dedicated gps unit to add or I could upgrade to a larger combo unit.
