Lol, ya but he can pretend that he is when he shows pics to hifs friends!!

If you don't want to drop the cash just troll the flies behind a crankbait.
-
No problem, I'll see what I can come up with, still have to pick out a pattern.
-
Well we wouldn't want that! Walleye colours I presume?
-
Sounds awesome Chris guys have been bugging me to try fly fishing for them I just don't want to buy another fly rod and reel. But they might work for gar down here.
I'll see if I can come up with a special couple flies for you, you usually fish with something around a foot right?

I looked into hosting a booth at the Sportsman Show this year. Bloody expensive! Almost $1500 for a 10' x 10' plus tax, plus other setup expenses!
I was in Fort Myers last week for the Florida Sportsman expo, and it was only $600, and wifi and electricity $15 for the 2 days!
So, I'm setting up at the Spring Fishing & Boating show instead. Half the price (with a half-booth option), and free parking!
Plus, Bob Izumi and Dave Mercer will be there
Izumi was at the last show too....
But I am looking forward to seeing Mercer

I'm there all weekend at the Izaak Walton booth again if anyone wants to stop by. I'll see if I can stop by the booth Mike, show you some musky flies
-
Good to hear that they're working for ya! Those guys look very tasty.
-
Still didn't see anyone from the board today (besides Brian). But at least it was very busy compared to the last couple days.
-
Well it's busier today, but we better hope things really pick up or this show may not last many more years.
-
Oh ok, I thought you were talking about the sportsmans show. Probably won't make it to that but if you make it to this one it would be good to talk to you!
-
We're on the left side of the main room when you walk in through the main doors, listen for the shooting ranges and you'll find us. Are you referring to the booth that's selling musky spinnerbaits and salmon trolling stuff?
-
Can't believe I haven't seen any of you at the Izaak Walton booth! I'll be sitting there tying all weekend, and I'll be doing the same at the show next weekend.

Welcome!
Who's the dude holding you?
LMAO!

I'd think that it mostly depends on which part of the lake you fish.
-
Wow that's big!

Thanks Christopher I had a idea I would be chatting to you on this topic I have a idea I will pm you about when I get some stuff figured out
Sounds good! Also, if you can get out with Graham I'd do it, he's a great guy and very knowledgable.
-
What does he fish? How big are the rivers? Are just a couple questions that need to be answered here. BFW made some good points, and I'd second the recommendation of a fiberglass or other deep bending rod. If you need flies shoot me a pm, I can make you whatever you need, even make a box of all the basic flies he'll most likely need

2nd pic is great

Wish I had a sled!

Great pic Joey!
Sounds like today was just a bad one for fishing all around, we went to an amazing crappie lake (in the spring at least) and only managed a pumpkinseed, then we went to a perch pond where I have never gotten skunked at and didn't mark more than one fish!
-
Hmm, do I know this lake?
Nice fish there!

Since many liked this drill adapter I have made up, I have decided that I wont be making spud bars this year. I will be making a few of these with extentions. Good luck to those that pick one up.
That's a great offer! What do you have to do to get one, is it auction or is it one of the prizes (can't actually remember how it works)
Iron fly

A friend sent me a video of some guys down south who host an event called Iron Fly, they use the same premiss as Iron Chef, except with fly tying. You get a few materials and a certain amount of time to come up with a fly using only those materials. I asked them if we could run an event up here, they say they're open to the idea, I just wanted to see if we'd even have interest before I start worrying about a venue. I figure we could host it at a community centre and get a rod or something for a prize if we all pitched in $10 per night.
So who's interested?
