  4. How Has Your Season Been ?

    Terrible ,for me, 2012 will go down as the worse season ever........... :wallbash:

     

    First & Last time my boat was on the water is May 19th.

    (21 Walleye and countless Rock Bass, Tomiko)

    ..... last time I was fishing(*not work related)... Father's Day.

    (did awesome 44 Walleye and 3x 30"+ Pike, Nipissing)

    I work for Community Living, I bring my members fishing twice a week for 3 hours, it's not like I don't spend time fishing,I don't wet my own line, but... I help my members catch fish , mostly Panfish and the odd Smallie or Pike with the occasional Walleye... ( can't post pics , privacy policy)..

     

    For my family and myself ...Hmmmm .. looks like I might get out on Sunday .... but definitely hauling the Camper and the Boat to Nepewassi for Thanksgiving.. I'm after that 50'+ we missed last year. :clapping:

    fishing belongs in the Olympics as much as wood splitting or underwater basket weaving....

    If it would be an Olympic sport , it would probably end up like a Fish-O-Mania thing...I don't think that the IOC would let 300HP outboards compete.

  19. Nipissing reg change? two walleye limit

    I've also heard something similar , a surprise 2 Walleye limit , or a total winter ban for 5 years , ( I know some business owners who filled out a survey) something to figure out their annual fishing related income ..( probably for math on their payouts )

     

    And also heard that if after these trials , a TOTAL 5 year closure to all forms of fishing ... ( this is from a few FN buddies of mine )

    Whatever it is that they choose to do , something has to be done .

    I got into a conversation last fall with one of our COs , he told me that if they are part of your business ( like an outpost rental )and registered with the MNR you're good to keep it there , anyone else can keep it on the spot for up to 21 days and must be moved 100M after 21 days , just like a camper trailer , tent or hunt camp ... apparently same applies for an ice hut left on shore during soft water.

    He knows of tons of tinnies hidden in the bush , unless he gets a complaint he doesn't bother the owner .

    I'm not sure what natives your referring to, but my family, my friends, my first nations are more respectful of the fishery then they have to be, and much moreso then most anglers I witness on the water. We follow the laws, because its the right thing to do, and because I respect the fishery, as well as all the others that enjoy it.

     

     

    I spend countless hours teaching the same philosophies to my children as well, for future generations, mine and yours.

     

    To me thats a pretty generalized and offensive comment, and trying to justify your actions towards angling, all the while lumpsumping humans, is pretty ignorant and downright rude.

     

    I can see where your coming from, but the law is the law, and your preaching your case to some VERY serious advocates of our ecosystem/fisheries on this site.

     

    Thats just the way I feel... Take it as you will

     

    I'm not FN , I have many FNs buddies I totally understand and and relate

    .. Yep on that !

    I don't think that his topic has anything to do with FNs .... Not a place to be jealous of othes or point fingers ... Except to those who do what they like , twist and disobey the written laws and worsten the fishery for others who care ...
