  1. I took a peek at the warriors recently for snitz and giggles..........it was a short peek, well over $70 grand and some approaching $80,000 for a 208DC model

Better come with a cuddy cabin and a master bedroom for that kinda cash, cuz ima need a place to sleep and shelter from the rain

  2. That first image on the link is with the 10-24, thats the only one i see but it certainly is a good one.

Ironically B&H put that Rokinon 12mm on sale and i snagged it yesterday......ill play with it and see if its a keeper and if not will send it back and look at other options. Funny thing is i went back on to B&H today and the lens went back up in price. Glad i grabbed it yesterday :)

  3. Try a tamron 11-16 F2.8 or a sigma 10-20 F3.5

I'm a nikon shooter and thats 2 lenses I'm looking at in the future :D

ill def. look into them.....the sigma line ive heard alot about, kinda in the same conversations as the Rokinon, and Samyang stuff. Tamron ive heard of a time or two but not as often as the others.

  4. I'm pretty sure you can run Canon or Nikon lenses on that with an adapter ring no? If so, the possibilities are endless.

Yep, you absolutely can but with manual focus and aperture obviously . Which is no big deal as you have all day to adjust focus and settings with landscape.....for the most part.

Ive seen some images from that 12mm rokinon and its super sharp and seems wide enuff.........even though its 18mm equivalent on a crop sensor. If you have some canon UWA gems im def. willing to look into the option of adapting them. Theres no sense in sticking solely to NX stuff anyway as the word is that they are exiting the camera business to focus on their celly market. Nice huh

  5. Neither, i jumped into the mirrorless world (NX500)..... Canon and Nikon at the time were junk as far as mirrorless. Ive heard Canon finally brought a little game with their latest M5 mirrorless they just released but still no 4K.But thats another conversation lol. Im looking at it for down the road possibly. Anyway, ROKINON makes a very nice 12mm 2.0 lens for the NX mount which im looking at............they also make a 10mm which is a little slower @ 2.8 and a 8mm fisheye, which like i said........i dont go for that warped look (even though you can do lens correction in post to get rid of it to some degree)

  6. Id really like to invest in a wider angle lens for this stuff, (not the macro ones obviously) and i hate the distorted look of fish-eye. Whats a good focal distance for landscape stuff?

  7. Blaque, sounds like you need to start shopping earlier :) :) I always stop in the Gander in Tonawanda if I'm fishing out that way. Great store.

that "sounds" logical......but when i do that , it seems i always get the "those havent come in yet" or "keep checking back" or "the truck is supposed to be here wednesday" HAHA

  8. I kind of steered clear of gander as they were always out of the most relevant stuff for local fishing needs. For example, theyd always sell out of cleos or moonshine spoons when pier season kicked off and NEVER restocked........once they were out, they were out for the year. Steelhead season came, needed drennan floats.........they were out within days of any anticipation of the season...........and again, once they were out they were out for good till next year. I dunno, i guess its a big box store complaint more than it is a specific gander gripe, but it seemed to really be an issue at gander.

Regardless it looks like my store is not on the cut list........we shall see

  9. i think i used to be somewhat proficient at reading my old units. However........for the kayak, i just snapped up a Helix 5 G2 with GPS, Side Imaging, Down Imaging, CHIRP sonar, AutoCHART Live etc..... Its going to be quite the learning curve me thinks to get efficient with it come spring.

Its a very easy thing to want to just turn it on and go when youve got limited time to fish and ur on the water gettin ur fish on

  10. I only "knew her" thru her posts over the years. Having said that, you do still feel like you kinda know many of the regulars here that youve never actually met in person. Like many, I specifically latched on to her photography posts as its something ive started getting into myself and i was always so inspired by her camera skills.

You have my deepest and most heartfelt condolences
