  1. I would be more afraid of other boaters than the waves from wind. You will obviously pick a calm day, but there are some real meat heads that run out of that port. I would need eyes in the back of my head to feel safe in a canoe. I have nearly had my 16ft boat swamped by big charter boats running in or out of the channel. Just keep your eyes open.

    S.

Exactly, Im always more afraid of the decisions others may make around me than my own. Armed with only an oar and a minn kota........theres no getting out of the way of a numbskull on plane staring at his fishfinder

  2. I personally probably wouldnt do it in a canoe......a sit on top kayak would be a better choice. We go out on Erie (close to shore) all the time at night trolling for walleyes in the spring on SOT's. If theres any threat of winds picking up its a nogo........but when winds are favorable, we get out there. Life vests obviously, a keen eye west on weather to verify doppler is on point, and full nav lights and theres really no worries out there in a stable SOT. Having said that, we launch at the beach and stay within slow trolling speed traffic with the other boats so nobody is zipping around us. I actually would not mingle in areas where boats can be going full rip

I actually plan on gettin the kayak out in a few weeks out of Olcott to do some trolling for staging boots lol........

  3. Neat idea, thats a whopper of a coconut lol

I would try this, but ive had to get rid of 2 yellow jacket nests in the yard this summer and with my luck.......this would only turn into a wasps nest lol (actually what it looks like )

  4. Spiders grab a flash and macro and go nuts :D

No thanks, i was playing with a grasshopper over the weekend that decided to jump and land on the lens.........i can deal with grasshoppers coming at me, spiders not so much.

  5. First one is ok

Second one could be awesome with either more foreground or less the rocks at your feet :D

Agreed , the first one i thought was sort of on the uninspiring and arbitrary side

Second one, i felt i was gettin somewhere with it but got tired of hopping back and forth over the spider laden railings haha

  6. Couple shots of the Peace Bridge from the other night (from the Buffalo side)

Its actually lit up with undulating colors of the rainbow, but the long exposure melded them into a solid purple

  7. Great morning out for sure.

I miss fishing all the local ponds i grew up with.......unfortunately the access over the years has diminished and most of them get so choked with growth by July that they arent even fishable anymore. Im talking much smaller ponds than the one your on however.......thats a big arse pond lol

  8. he looks ready to pounce in that second shot lol

Is the flash and diffuser essential........Im not getting great results (at least not consistantly) but im only trying with natural lighting outdoors
