Been some years since last fishing upon North America’s record book lake trout stage, a small group of the finest gentlemen, eight us settled into Plummer’s Arctic Circle Lodge in the Northwest Territories… Didn’t actually think I’d ever be back but hey, fish happens!! And so yeah, just another bountiful slay with hundreds of hungry lakers for all, we wouldn’t expect anything less, but the trick for me is always catching “the one,” ya know!? Anyways, this greying, red beard Viking shared a tin vessel with an ancient, melodious, white Wizard friend, our very own OFC'er Doug or "AkaSHAG" on the site here, and together we cast spells, whispered some secrets and sang fish tunes while plundering the incredible trout waters of Great Bear Lake. Enormous lake trout from world record waters. Hundreds and hundreds of fish caught and northern scenery plenty might never see, if your pulse beats for fishing, you’d be either dead or dumb not to come along on this one. Went to Meaford for kings. Not much on the finder. Ran new gear and everything worked great. Big Jon electric is really fast compared to my old one. The big Jon free and easy release works ok and I got one fish on it. I’ll have to try it again to see if I’m going to keep using it. 2/2 on lake trout. Nice morning out.
