lawson721 Posted September 8, 2023 Report Posted September 8, 2023 Heading up to the south end of Onaping lake in a few weeks can’t find a lot of info about it anything I’ve heard was the north is great fishing does anyone have any experience on this part of the lake any tips or help would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance cheers
wmshaw Posted August 20 Report Posted August 20 Hi, I fished this lake last year and caught lots of smallies. Almost everywhere we went in the lake there was an awesome smallie bite. We were trying for walleye but had no success. We then drove another half hour north to Three Corner Lake and caught walleye in various spots in the lake.
sparky302 Posted August 20 Report Posted August 20 I'm a local and fish this lake often catching walleye in numbers on this lake you need to travel up pass the hole in the wall which is a good 20 miles up from the government landing i have caught walleye around the islands also before the big water.
lawson721 Posted August 21 Author Report Posted August 21 Yeah we were staying in the southern end of the lake we only had a 14’ with a 15hp we wouldn’t of made it up to the top we caught a few small walleye in the first couple days and the bite turned off lots of smallies around no pike I’ve been told the southern end gets a lot of pressure all in all it was a beautiful lake but fishing could have been better
