xrap Posted June 18, 2007 Report Posted June 18, 2007 I was in the Niagara region this weekend to do a little shopping and we drove by I think it was the Welland Canal and then we drove around a bit to see if we could access it from shore and toss a few lures around but we could not find shore access. There was gates that said Security Notice and No Tresspassingso we didn't even bother going down. Just wondering were we could find some shore access to the canal. Anything would be great, Thanks in advance.
Dondorfish Posted June 19, 2007 Report Posted June 19, 2007 Xrap - there are all kinds of access points along the full stretch of the canal - Where abouts will you be going? St.Catharines? Welland? Port Colborne? Don
xrap Posted June 19, 2007 Author Report Posted June 19, 2007 I'd guess it's somewhere around Welland I wasn't really too fimilar with the area because I was not driving, but any access at all. We did not have the time to drive really far because my brother in law's fuel pump was almost about dead so we had to head home.
Dondorfish Posted June 19, 2007 Report Posted June 19, 2007 If you start in St. Catharines, on Lakeshore Rd. and take Welland Canal Parkway, you can follow the canal all the way up into Thorold and farther. Most of this area is very accessible to the public. There are also alot of places in Welland and on into Port Colborne. Hope this helps Don
Dondorfish Posted June 19, 2007 Report Posted June 19, 2007 Don't know if this will work but what the heck - we'll try: http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&om=1&a....00957&z=16
