Chugger Posted May 22, 2007 Report Posted May 22, 2007 Howdy folks, Got the boat in the water (It runs Great Ron!!!) and out i went. Once out I realized that I had never fished for lakers in the spring. My results showed my lack of experience, I got skunked. I'm fishing a deep, gin clear lake (Skeleton lake). I used the same techniques I used in the summer with not even a nibble. The summer I'm able to do well enough on them. Any tips on where the lakers go in the spring time, I didn't really mark anything on the finder either. Any help is greatly appreciated! Cheers, -Graeme
Raf Posted May 22, 2007 Report Posted May 22, 2007 try the upper 40 feet, sometimes 15 feet of the water column. planer boards, long lines, and dipsey divers, will all net results. you can leave the riggers at home. the water temp is at a point where they can be anywhere in the water column.
Patches Posted May 22, 2007 Report Posted May 22, 2007 We've been catching lots in this area with Spoons and Body Baits. Downrigging for Salmon Mostly. Here's a link with Pictures and Specific lures. http://www.bluewaterbridge.com/viewtopic.php?t=118 I'm not sure where you are or how these techniques will work for you, but hopefully this will give some ideas.
