anyone fished shades mill or pinehurst this year?

Thinking of taking my boy out tomorro but don't want to waist my time if the weeds are too much. I'm fishing from shore so would anyone be able to tell me if ill have any luck?

FYI......Pinehurst lake is closed due to bacteria.

the weeds are really only too much if you have a boat and that is in the area near the launch. Not too many opportunities around shore. Try renting canoe and fish around the islands.
