SylvanOwner Posted January 24, 2012 Report Posted January 24, 2012 Take a look at the Bob Izumi HT light/medium rods they have at LeBaron's. Cost is $17.27 and in my opinion are better than the spring tip. Same sort of concept in the sense that there is a very sensitive tip but I feel these have much better performance. The last 3 or 4 inches of the rod is super light and sensitive and then it very quickly tapers to a strong backbone, just terrific.
fishingfarmer Posted January 25, 2012 Report Posted January 25, 2012 I purchased a few Fenwick EliteTech rods this year and I'm very pleased with them. The 28" med. is my fav, it will handle whatever, but it's very sensitive too. The 24" ML is also a great rod, check it out if you get a chance. I think I payed about $30 per rod I have a buddy that bought some of these rods this season. He is now selling all of his other ice rods.He loves his new fenwicks.
