Boston Whaler Montauk

Anyone has owned Boston Whaler Montauk 17?

I know it's legendary, so-called unsinkable boat. I am only concerned about its beam size, only 74 inches (too narrow?). Can it handle rough water?

Growing up we had an Outrage 210, although I cant really give you advice on the montauk, I can say for the whalers themselves they are tough and really good boats. But you have to realize that anything with 74in beam has it's limitations, my guess is that for it's size class it's probably quite stable.
