Jack-of-all-fish Posted August 31, 2009 Report Posted August 31, 2009 Thinking of heading to Opeongo tomorrow morning to fish and camp. I've never seen this lake and am wondering wether anyone is familiar with any campsites where I'd be able to beach my Princecraft 17 1/2 footer. Are there any (many) sandy beach campsites? Also from what I've read, the central part of the lake that joins the 3 arms together is shallow. How shallow is shallow? How's the fishing? Thanks, Jack.
Jack-of-all-fish Posted September 1, 2009 Author Report Posted September 1, 2009 Didn't want to take a chance on Opeongo with inadequate info so I'm off to Marten River in 2 hours. Ahhh 3 more days in paradise! Jack.
lucabrasi Posted September 1, 2009 Report Posted September 1, 2009 You'll find some small beaches scattered here and there, certainly enough to beach a boat. The best beaches though seem to be on the East Arm, about 10ks from the launch through the narrows.
