oates Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 Hi all, the rain has made the rivers swampy and dangerous, seemingly more than 1-1 1/2 ft higher and fast. My question is about the lakes, will all the heavy rain wreck lake fishing, my buddy is coming down from Montreal and I want to take him out on Rice Lake - is that advisable? Does heavy rains (like we have hade) wreck lake fishing like it does river? Or is that a non-factor. Also will it make Rice more murkey or is that only winds that will make that happen. Thanks, Hopefully Aug. will be sunny for 30 days straight!
Paully Posted July 28, 2009 Report Posted July 28, 2009 (edited) Rain does not affect lakes like it does rivers.. good luck and let us know how you made out Edited July 28, 2009 by Shore_Lunch
Sinker Posted July 28, 2009 Report Posted July 28, 2009 The 5 eyes we caught out of rice tonight didn't seem to mind S.
michaelkovacs Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 had great luck on rice 2 weeks ago... but Rice is exceptionally weedy this year (yes, it is always weedy, but this weather has made it moreso!).
oates Posted August 3, 2009 Author Report Posted August 3, 2009 Update: got skunked that day. Was using tubes (white/purple) rapala crankbaits (various) nada. Had some bites, even a bass leap out of 20ft of water (following my tube) wasn't meant to be.
