  3. With all the boat traffic there, it really isn't much fun to fish it. You need to paddle upstream in a canoe or kayak away from the bustle. Mostly carp & rock bass anyway.
  4. Daiwa Exceler is the smoothest bargain around..but what do I know..
  5. In the old days most headwater creeks had BrookTrout. Some were stocked, as well as Rainbows like the Pine River, etc. Numerous ponds used to be stocked by the Lands & Forests Dept.(now the MNR) Now the trout aren't stocked anymore, unless a local Anglers Club gets involved. I'm guessing Bass Tourneys are a mixed blessing too. Water quality has deteriorated in some places. Pollution, lack of access to Private Property, etc. Pacific Salmon stocking has put fish in an otherwise barren Lake Ontario. Invasive species,Cormorants,etc..we have really messed with nature. Some places are better than they were, some are worse. Overall, we are still lucky to have what we do. So,Go get 'em, but take only what you need.
  6. We all are gettin' old, together!

  12. I used to fish Speckles with a few spinners & snap swivels stored in a Sucrets tin. That was all ya needed. Now, for river smallies..I load a camo fanny-pack stuffed with a plano full of jigs, spinner blades & fin-s minnows & crappie tubes. Leatherman pliers & a pocket knife..fish-on! Evening bassing..spro frog, a spinnerbait, a Pop-R & a floating Rapala in a Plano box. Plip..plip,plip...KERSPLASH!!!
  13. I'd go back & fish a bigger one out! You must have a great spot to produce that baby!
  14. Looks OK, your weight keeps it down. Better than sitting on cold aluminum or splintery wood.
  15. You can modify Tupperware Tubs, cooler bags & boxes, or Plastic toolboxes as well. Use some strong wire & hang lures upside down from the rear hook.
