  1. That's so weird and sad. I am watching the show this very moment and I thought about posting a topic and I see this. Crazy life. No guarantees boys, enjoy while it lasts.
  2. Grizzlies are a different story at all ... nice pics man. Miro
  3. Great bear pics ... thx. They give me the creeps.
  4. Wow - this should be in a magazine. You took this Bill?
  5. I am relatively new to this as well but loving it. I have a 8'6" long 6 weight rod and research had told me and my weee bit of experience proved that this was probably the best choice for me. It is flexible enough to do both small and larger trouts. The only thing I wouldn't do with is fish the runs. Miro
  6. Yeah - I have the original. Its nice and light and comes with quite a few accessories. As for post-editing I use iMovie, makes life a lot easier. That Credit River fly fishing video I posted last week was using GoPro and iMovie. Like Art says use the software that comes with it. If not, perhaps I can hook you with some premium editing software. Miro
  7. Man ! only if I didn't have to be in the capital for a couple of important prezis. I would and could have taken the rest of the week off. I am new to this backcountry thing but would have accepted the challenge for them brookies. Have fun Mike. Miro
  8. hahaha ... exactly what I was thinking ... "I never chased girls, they chased me ... " .... Man!, Mike, you'd have the best stories for your children and grandchildren in the days to come.... Good for you. How many of us can say stories like that ...
  9. Beauts .... glad you found them. What were your using, if you don't mind sharing?
  10. I found the link to manitoubass's bear story http://ontariofishingcommunity.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=56005&st=0&p=610336&hl=bear&fromsearch=1entry610336 And yes, I got myself those bear bells and the air horn .. think I am set.
  11. hahahah ..... but hey man ... It don't hurt to ask.
  12. cleaning fish? - clean away from site - throw remains back into lake - keep only what you eat that night?
  13. Yep Java is a must and I'll second that Starbucks instant stuff. Kicks freshly brewed Timmy's butt. I know I will make some enemies with that comment.
  14. Damn - that does seem handy.
  15. Gold mine already. I got my Evernote account loaded with this info. Amazing is the power of social media ... And the intent of one man to help a fellow man.
  16. Wow ... I am bookmarking this. Thanks Mike. Will need to research some of what you have mentioned. And Algoma! ... I assume, most or some of you have subscribed to the WFN channel and I keep seeing the ad for the Algoma region ... and here we have Mr. Solopaddler going there. Good to be part of this site .. its more addictive than Facebook. thanks for the tips guys. Miro
  17. Precisely. I do that for my exterior camping and now I will for interior. This is good info. Thank you all. Keep it coming. And why Jedi?
  18. Hey man - please do so. PM me. I will cross reference it against my list. Thanks bro. Miro
  19. Sweet .. thank you my friend.
  20. Yes, absolutely. I already got that. That is the type of info I am looking for.
  21. I just learned this stuff over the winter and found that you really need to know 3 knots Nail knot - backing to main line (tricky and very forgetful)... I found 2 Perfection loops - main line to leader (easy) ... you could also do another nail knot here. Double surgeons knot - leader to tippet (real easy) Here are a series of videos I found useful.... For casting technique I found this guy really good. His name is Peter Kutzer and works for Orvis. His videos are pretty good. Subscribe to his channel, he has got a bunch of instructional videos. I think to start with you really need to know 2 casts ... your normal cast and the roll cast. Good luck. Miro
  22. Hey gang, Thinking of going to AP interior over the May24 long weekend. I have been exterior camping at AP since 94 but never done backcountry. Since this will be my first time I just want to make sure I don't leave behind something really important. This is where I can benefit from your experience. I AM NOT LOOKING FOR AN ENTIRE LIST but what are some of the most important things you take with you. For instance one thing I learnt from a recent post by Mike (solopaddler) is to take DUCT TAPE with me Thanks Miro
