That's your cure for everthing GCD! -
Here's the deal, I met up with Clive (AKA- MEPPS, or Mr.Stumpy) to go fishing the other day. I have to say that I started getting annoyed with him. He kept complaining that his missing finger is sensitive to the cold. As well, he dropped a few things because of his missing digit. Gillian keeps whining that she misses playing the piano, trumpet and trombone. Don't get me wrong, I'm a romantic, Clive and Gillian are great, But what they did was crazy. For some of you newer members, here is the story. I'll warn you, it's graphic. http://www.bmezine.com/news/pubring/20050401.html printed 01/04/05 I am a pretty tolerant guy, but I have to say that this "act of love" has hurt our relationship. I hope nobody else gets this crazy Anyways, Happy Valentines Day!

You lucky bugger, I think the only way I could get my wife out fishing in the winter would be very, very far down south!
-
Dang, You must have lost a few pounds with that trek!

Yes, But not all. The marina dry storage is protected by the lack of water access during the soft-water season. The villians entered the property by ice and broke into the dry-docked boats that were both in outdoor and indoor storage.

Nice one Gerritt, But are you camera shy??

Wow, Thanks everyone! You never let me down. There is a lot of information here to wade through. I will try to talk to the marina operators and authorities together. I have an interesting story that will also explain the view of the Marina owners. I am friends with a few boat owners and the other day had a conversation with one of the staff at a local marina/club. They recently had 85 boats broken into and vandalized. Thousands of dollars in damage. The club/marina had to hire full time security which of course raised the members annual fees. They were not impressed. The intruders were able to access the property via the ICE! So, I can understand why fishermen are viewed as a potential problem. As mentioned, we could hurt ourselves on the property, damage property with our lures and be seen as possible intruders with ill-intent. Put that together and we can be perceived as a very unwelcome guest. I've said it before, You will see more "NO FISHING" bylaw signs erected if we do not tread lightly on sensitive ground. A new one just went up at the Port Credit pier. Converseley, we must defend our right to fish legally accessable waters. Thanks again, Snag

I'm afraid Roy may be correct. I did find some info that indicated that the "land and water" are leased from the federal government. However, no boundaries are described.

I bring a 3 by 3 piece of 1/8" plastic foam carpet underlay. It weighs nothing and you can get down on the ground without getting wet.
-
Hmmmmmmm, I did enter the property from public land and walked across the ice to the spot. Even if the bite is poor, I want to return on principle to give it a try. I've tried googling the property lines and water access but no info yet. I'll keep trying.........

I agree Gerritt, I am very courtious when i'm fishing around public and private property. I left politely but I did not see any signs at the entrance of the marina (lake O) prohibiting public access. I do want to go back and try again.

I decided to try some ice fishing at the Humber Marina just for a laugh. I drilled two holes and heard a voice behind me on the dock. Two men, worker and boat owner(?) informed me that there was no fishing. I asked if the marina had rights to the water. They said yes, "it's in their lease", I was told. I know we've discussed this before. I thought that basically, the water is for everyone. Once I set foot on the dock then I would be trespassing. What's the law here? Thanks!
