  1. Manitoubass2, I am not ignorant either but I have a different view point. Going off of what Crosshairs has said it IS LIKELY that theses are NFN nets by non-compliant natives. They may be unaccepting of the rules put on them by the commercial fishery or they place these nets out for additional income to support their addictions.

Short and long of it is.........it has to stop. 4 nets x 200 rotting fish is only the nets we know about.

i respect your opinion bud again it's grasping at straws. Regardless i agree, whomever is doing this its wrong. If it was to support addictions however, they would be collected. So i challenge that point of view. No money in a net not harvested
  2. It would be rather simple for the seller to take name and number if you buy a commercial sized net. After all I don't think it's going to be used for a massive volley ball game now...ya think. I call brown granola on whether they put their name and tag on them.

thats an awesome point of view, not. I might as well just say my opinion is nipissing anglers upset with aboriginal rights are doing this on purpose to make First Nations look bad. I'm a human though an not an ignorant fellow, so thats not how i think. The situation sucks for nature, anglers and FN's.
  3. Is it just me, or is tying up rigs actually fun and relaxing?

I look forward to taking an hour or so after the kids go to bed .... sit at the kitchen table, chatting with my wife, and tying a few dozen rigs. Sure is better than destroying my brain in front of the devil box (TV).

exactly!!! Except I'll spend i few hours usually while the wife beads or sews. On the other hand i absolutely hate tying them in the boat lol
  4.

Care to post a picture of this harness?

    Thanks

will do bud. Busy working now but I'll make a few tonight and post pics tomorrow. And just for the sake of argument, I've used about every line possible lol. The only difference on the rig you wanna see is i just use a palomar and not a snell

  6. Thanks again.

I have been pre tying the hook section. Have them hanging on my PC desk. All I need to do then is add beads and blades. Long ones, short ones, single and double blades. Im going to try triple willow leaf.

IMO, it will look like a school of minnows.

Hey,if you dont try,you will never know.

Is this how the musky guys start out? Catch a musky on a worm harness, and say hey,I can make them bigger and badder.

    :dunno::rofl2::rofl2:

    No offence fellas. :P

when i first started tying i tried everything i could think of. Some turn out to be real gems. Probably one of my favourites is a double Colorado with yellow beads and a small wide gap hook. I use a 3-5" power minnow on it and walleye love it. I put on a keel sinker so i can cast them and bass and pike go nuts for it, he'll even crappie if you downsize too a 2-3" minnow
  7. Spinnerbaits are deadly, i use black with silver Colorado and willow leaf blades. Strike king pit belly spinners are deady(i too fish current). Another tactic I've learned is like crappie fishing when there suspended. Small or large plastic, dropped to where you mark them, then lift and drop. Not really a jig but slower, they bite on the fall Jerk baits work too and i also love rapala dt 10's in golden shiner or crawfish patterns

  8.

I like this idea of generating revenue the best.

i agree in principal. But we need good co's however. Last year a buddy and i got pulled over while crappie fishing. He got dinged for no life jacket. I warned him in advance and he took his lumps, he deserved it. But the co harassed me big time about my outdoors card and it left me confused. He said hed let it go this time but to go to the fort frances MNR office to straighten out the issue asap. Well i still couldn't understand the issue? I have a valid outdoorsman card (ontario) as well as a valid sport fishing license. No idea how this got brought up but he said i lived in Alberta. Well at one time i did, 6-7 years prior. But i was never an Alberta resident. I always retained my home in ontario. When I went into the office they laughed at me and said the co musta had a rough day. Nothing at all was wrong with my card nor my license. Pissed me off but also confused the heck outta me
  9.

Just an observation and not to be a buzz kill but...After looking at all the photos there is only one guy wearing a PFD in all those pics! I rarely wear one myself but im just sayin...

At least manitoubass2 has one in the background.

yep, right where it belongs! Lol. The pfd goes on for the boat ride or rough waters. No way an i fishing in a pfd in 5 fow in a bay on a calm day. The kiddos on the other hand...
  10. Well i had enough! Working 10 hours a day then volunteering to sandbag has gotten the best of me. Frig this. Pack up the kids and head to camp with two goals in mind. Relax and have fun:) well and fish as much as possible. Can't wait to smash big crappie outta the paddleboat haha

  11. Uh oh! Were all going p3ta!!! Lol. My belief is everything for fish is instinctual. I respect them greatly but I'm not gonna lose any sleep over filleting a few. When i do feel bad is when i deep hook a smallie through the gills and have to keep it. My wife says " whats for supper"? "Ummm, mud?" Lol.

  12. Lol, Alberta is no place to go work for a family man, its a single guys hussle. I worked out there for years and regret ever going. I worked 12-14 hours a day for 362 days a year. When your not working your sleeping. No time for anything else. Sure makes you appreciate being with your family, if you make it out and still have one. Once i walked out i didnt work for 3 years i was so burnt out. I had no desire to work, at all. It was all family fishing and golf lol. And talk about prices! Back when i just had two boys, i payed $2225 per month in rent, and $1750 per month for daycare!!!!

  13. Best country in the world = working at 68 years old???? You guys are delusional. I love my country but my pride doesn't overshadow the truth. Canada has the potential to be the best country on earth, but we will never se that potential fulfilled. Too many people with beer in their fridge thinking all they can do is vote to make a change.

  14.

    LOL

    We own crap.

Im 50,I have yet to see in all my voting years, where I made a difference.

good luck to ya! Imo your way too submissive. Your a governments dream citizen by the sounds of it. And if you think there is nothing you(we) can do your pretty blind. Take a look around the globe my friend. Governments are in major heat around the globe. But it'll be ok, we have beer. And our kids have what???
  15.

So what will be your next job Cliff?

Run for election in your hood, then work your way up the ladder to PM to make changes to the way Cliffs world should be? I meant that in no disrespect, but there are many people not happy. Im just one that dosent let it get to him. We got this far havent we?

    To late now my friend.

pretty submissive if ya ask me. Lots we can do. We own the government, not the other way around.
