sick with the flu right now. Super bummer as I have a fishing trip planned. I hope I can still get out.
But in lew(sarc) I found some old pics I thought id share. Most are fishing, others just great times.
I wouldnt normally do this but reports seem slow and im sure some pics help out!
Fall RR walleye on a blue jig
RR again through the ice in my old shack that some druggies destroyed

Dutch the cop showed me the radar gun upside down and said "it doesn't matter it reads the same"! Told me "to pick his daughter up in my father's other car tomorrow". LOL. That was a '76 Fury Sport with a 400, it was only good for about 125. Only dated her for 3 weeks. Johnny was a town cop just sitting at the town limits and I was on the highway in OPP territory. I shut it down and rolled in behind his cruiser. We use to borrow his LTD from time to time and leave the keys in our cars so he could find us to get his cruiser back.. the good old days.
Still have the car... in parts right now as I do a full restoration. My '69 Bee, 4 gear with a 2.73:1 rear end in it vs the 3:23 that should be in there as stock. Getting close to paint while I thrash at concours restoration on all the mechanical and interior.
Dutch if you've even seen the rallye dash in a '69/70 B Body, the round speedo goes to 150 MPH, then has a 1.5 inch blank spot before you can get the needle back to the 0. That was 181 mph in mine, took about 8 miles to get it there...
Thats epic!!!

Nice stuff Rick, but if I believed the media you shouldn't be eating anything out of Rainy River. What's the truth there?
I have no issues with it. The mill closed and drastically reduced pollution. Plus it runs from rainy lake through to lake of the woods.
I can tell you better next week as new gold hired me on a side project to go test the water and fish. Be pretty cool actually to have a clear answer
Tbt engineering envirmomental department is sending up experts and tools from thunderbay, my job is gonna be navigating the long sault rapids safely and fishing?

Looks like a good time for sure. The blade blank on the knife is a 154 CM if it is made by the manufacture I think it is. It is harder than 440c but has the same corrosion resistance and the edge while harder to sharpen it holds an edge quite well. The case is a thermo plastic that comes in sheets that once heated with a paint stripper gun becomes moldable and gives you the nice tight fit so try not to leave it on the dashboard of a car in the summer it can be reshaped from heat above 160f. That's like a billion Celsius right lol,

Its carbon fibre kydex is my understanding art

Like I said... there's not many around where I fish so I only know what I read
Yeah, it could very well be different on different bodies of water too
-
Dirt water tho?
Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Water clarity on rainy river varies greatly with rising or lowering the water at the fort frances damn
-
From what I understand saucer are more light sensitive
They are generally found in deeper dirtier water
Only one I've ever caught was in 35' of dirty water
MNR said they hadn't seen one on lake st Francis in a LONG time when I reported it
Interesting. Thats completely the opposite of my experiences. I catch alot of sauger on rainy river and there all shallow, either in the rapids or on shallow mudflats
-
My intrepid was governed at 182 lol
Ive been in a few of steve arpins rally cars that sure go!!!
-
On rainy river there is.
1-6 fow in the rapids and youll rarely catch walleye but tons of sauger.
They also go really shallow in the day, which ya dont see to often with walleye
Its kinda odd they stay small because they feed rather aggresively.
Biggest ive ever caught is maybe 14"s

Geez and I thought I was nuts getting dinged on the 502 doing 182km p/h in an 80 ???

Corn is null and void lolSpeaking of good looking plates of food, 4 carbs on 1 plate Rick, maybe 5 if there's flour in the crumbs? For anyone that grates their own bread crumbs a few fish fillets covered in bread crumbs is almost 1/3 loaf of bread maybe more. Extra time in the gym today? What a Debbie Downer eh? I'm jealous as I don't remember what Pickerel tastes like.
The beans are also high in protein and fiber.
The fish is breaded and fried yes, but its still high protein.
No defense for the panfries???
But I took 6 grams of fish oil with the meal and that helps slow the glycemic response and nutrient partitioning. Also had a whey isolate shake before bed
It was a good day to eat like crap(from a nutritional standpoint) because yes, today is leg day at the gym!!!!
Ya might not see it under all my layers, but I went from 215lbs to 196lbs in the last 6 weeks. Ahhhh muscle memory

Ill take the veyron anyday. Man that one nice looking car!
I love that video of the british fella testing its highest speed
He says something to the effect of " at full speed the tires will blow out in 12 minutes. But dont worry, youll be outta gas in 8 minutes" hahahahah

OI, by sunday itll be armbreaking. No more eaters, everything will be 25 to 32"s
Brian, I sincerely hope you return one day not only to visit, but to FISH!!!
AKR, it gets silly here during the shiner run! Its not even worth putting the boat in lol. They stack right up in the back eddie about 40ft from shore. And they eat everything lol
HH, ill work on my smile! I really wasnt paying attention to my pics and well, I guess you noticed it lol
LeXx, ya gotta fish NW ontario at least once in your life! Ever hear of limeyangler? Doods got fish in his yard lol
Thanks for all the replies.
Also, about my knife. Search up meanfield tactical on facebook. They make all sorts of knives and they custom make to your specifications. Well worth the price! Made just up the road from me in the rainy river township

Man! I wish I knew to ask about that! Would have loved to hear about those stories hehe!
Your close to Rainy? You lucky man!!!
Wish I knew a fellow OFC'r was close! I totally would have met up
Im from international falls dood. Lived my childhood in fort frances. No im in emo smack dab between LOTWs and Rainy lake. Ive fished both all my life(I love these waters)
Im 40 minutes from NW bay rainy lake(retarded fishery)
I also fish porters inlet alot and black sturgeon.
Rainy is just rediculously good fishing year round.
Ive guided the lidners here a few times.
Chris has a chip on his shoulder. He was telling me two years ago ice fishing NW bay. Pros wrecking his gear, rehooking fish for pics etc. And if ya know chris he friggen hates it.
Hes a funny guy, and one heck of an angler.
FYI my cousin owns camp narrows way up on the north arm of rainy. And one of my best friends own rainy lake houseboats right by the thunderbird lodge
