A Smallie just over 20". Caught on a Flame Red Original Hot n Tot.

First of all, compared to some other fishing forums I've belonged to, OFC seems to be friendlier and it's membership doesn't usualy engaged in as much bickering as other forums. I use to live one province west of here and the main provincial forum there was full of bickering, arguing and insults. This is a great place to share our love of fishing, our experiences and knowledge.

The wife and I only keep what we want to eat. In a typical year we probably consume about 24 Walleye, 12 Perch, 12 Smallmouth, 6 Lake Trout. Any large examples get released. We only keep Walleye between 15-18", Smallmouth between 12-16", Perch 11-12", Lake Trout between 16-18". All Northern, Muskie, Crappie and Rock Bass go back. We fish about 130 days out of every year.

I had hooked a 46" muskie the week before while pitching crankbaits for smallmouths in the shallow bays, and this 20" smallie put up almost as good fight as that muskie. Both were caught on a #5 gold @ flame red Original Hot n Tot. It's been the crankbait of choice this year on our lake.

The Eagle won.

Just over 20" in length. Was a lot of fun bring him in.
