Thanks for the replies guys. Basically each battery took about 60-90 minutes to get to 90% and then a day to get to FULL. I will now separately charge them a few times a year. Might get out on Balsam one more time to drain the batteries again and recheck...

Charged 2 deep cycle batteries with my NOCO GEN2 20A (2 bank) and went fishing only to notice it displayed 75% battery after the first hour of use. Fished for the whole day with my 24V Terrova 80 no problem and the batteries were fine. Got home and next day charged again with the NOCO GEN2 20A (2 bank) and they gave me the green light after 5-6 hours and voltage was 13.2 for both. Just to check I setup my Motomaster Eliminator 12A on one of the batteries and it read 13.2 but LO. Within 1 hour it went 60%,70%,80% and sitting now at 90% for 90 minutes... Yes I topped up levels with distilled water in a cool garage. Battery technology is WAY above my grade and you can quickly go down a rabbit hole reading FAQ sheets all day (I did). They are cheap Deep Cycle batteries 2016 but still last almost 3 days full at slow speed so performance is still excellent. Obviously this is nothing but nitpicking but wondering if anyone has seen the same.

Big Thank you for all the suggestions. Just back and Balsam provided a lot of fish again this year. Due to my slow pontoon 30hp I really can't roam too far so basically South and West Bay provided for the fish fry(s). Lots of pike/walleye/bass in South Bay and the last few days West Bay gave a few 30"+ pike. South Bay gave up a few 24"+ walleye and a 4lbs bass. The weather seemed to really make a difference as the bite would shut off completely for 48hrs and then resume huge. Had 1 musky follow in South Bay and 1 musky follow in West Bay. (both laughing at my figure-8) Again, thx for the members tips and special thx to Hank for 24/7 support!

Actually CrappyTire in Brantford had 6 in STOCK. ($32) But.... Had it all installed and then noticed the bobbin was dated 2015!!! Instructions clearly state it should be less than 3 years old but I went ahead anyways and will buy (check date first) at BPS next time I'm in that area.

Looks like I will have to head out to BPS as CrappyTire seems to have no stock.

Posting again... Love the board! Just saw in my garage that my Onyx A/M 24 PDF (Automatic) had inflated getting wet (my fault of course). Looking for a full re-arming kit as it looks like not only the cartridge needs replacing. The instructions mention a new "bobbin" and green indicator clip is needed not just a 24g CO2 cartridge. Will run over to CrappyTire to looksee but wondering if anyone has re-used the bobbin etc.? Of course won't cheap out if the old bobbin is UN-usuable but I have some 24g cartridges laying around already. Sorta know the answer already but just thought I'd throw it out there.

How about this? I can leave my hitch on this way and have 2 swivel points. Those ball clamps hold pretty tight right? No chance if disengaging if locked?

I take great pride in ripping the cranks thru the weeds but age is telling me the wacky rig might stop my back from barking!

Got back from Lake St. Clair and launching from Jeanettes Creek finally pushed me to think of improving my boat trailer as I'm tired of getting wet and struggling in low water launches. I have a pontoon boat and built my retrofitted tandem trailer for the boat with great success (or so it seemed). Basically I need a "CLIFF" boat launch for smooth launches as the boat sits high on the trailer. I could adjust the bunk brackets down maybe 2" but I think the simple solution is a 6' extension just used for launches, not travel. My idea was a simple 6' 2" square tube with 6" doubled up for ball height and the peg holes drilled in the other end for the truck receiver. THIS IS NOT A TRAVEL HITCH, JUST USED FOR LAUNCHES. I have read that it will put a lot stress on hitches but mines pretty solid. Probably a hassle on and off but way better then having the truck 3/4 into each lake! Under $100 for metal at Princess Auto I think, will have to look around.

Will be up on Balsam first 2 weeks of August and hoping to improve from past years. This is kind of a greedy post as we do well but there is always room for improvement and new techniques etc. Every year we try to improve are success and have settled in to throwing spinners and crankbaits in Southbay and Ant Island. Just wondering what the regular's use for bait etc. and what they target. Truthfully we don't target any species as we always end up with a usual equal number of PIKE/BASS and WALLEYE while occasionally stumbling into a musky. Not really a dropshot or trolling guy but wondering if that would work in the weedbeds? I have ventured towards Coboconk and the provincial park and Mitchel Lake but always end up heading back with less success. Any pointers appreciated as I wouldn't mind trying some different techniques and locations. Thx. ahead.

Sorry for the title, kinda click bait. Went to watch some weekend TV fishing and darn 50" LCD TV won't turn on! Its a cheap Sanyo only a couple years old and was working fine and hate the idea of chucking a whole TV due to 1 blown cap or chip... Went thru the youtube trying to troubleshoot but I'm a hack electronic guy at best. Anyone in the Hamilton area do repairs that will end up under the price of a new unit? Costco has 55" 4K cheapies in the $500 range so not sure its even feasible to repair 3 yr old unit...

Last week bought a axle from Nandoo Trailers in Hamilton $225. I have a tandem trailer and took me 30 mins to replace old one. Not a mechanic, just removed tires, ubolts and put axle on. Lined up with center bolt on springs and put new ubolts on, done.

Was in my brother-In-laws truck and it has all the bells and whistles. The radio caught my eye as it had a touch screen with perfect cell phone integration. Any chance of grabbing a cheap amazon radio for easy replacement? Not interested in the actually radio/stereo part and don't need 10,000W volume but the hands free cell phone use would be great. The electronics don't scare me its the stupid incompatible loom connectors that need "McGyvering"... I see a ton of models on Amazon or CrappyTire etc. but again compatible looms would be nice. Yes I could follow wire diagrams to make any unit work but.... I'd rather be fishing. Anyone know of a cheap model and connector package that would do the job for a Caravan 2012? Overall very poor weekend. Finished with around 6 wally and ONLY 1 pike over the weekend. Our usual ratio is 4 pike 1 Wally... We put in a ton of hours and caught maybe 10 small pike to toss back. Caught 2 nice 2-3 lbs OOS bass returned safely... 2nd year in a row with low pike numbers compared with years past. Years past we would bring in a stringer of solid pike but none to be seen now. The lake doesn't seem to see high pressure so don't think we fished it out considering the "veterans" usually stick to the Walleye. This video shows are basic hunting grounds: (Not my video)

Had a Pyrex measuring glass fall from a overhead cupboard and break right thru the glass top revealing the burner element. Had an extended warranty at Home Depot that informed me I was SOL. The glass top contained all elements as 1 unit $400, installed myself avoiding the $200 service fee. Did I mention the stove was 3 months old?

My wife asked for a new fitbit so I purchased a new one at Sail for $199. Same cost at Bestbuy and I had a few leftover giftcards so went to the Burlington Sail store. I was quickly informed at the electronic counter that electronic sales are FINAL. Didn't foresee a problem so went to cashier where I was informed 2 more times the sale was FINAL. OK, no problem I thought even though I don't think Bestbuy/Staples adhere to these rules... Anyways. When my wife opened the gift it was immediately evident this was a "USED" item. Package taping basically fell off and the packaging was all over the place and the manual was ripped! My wife said don't worry about it as long as it works and it did. I wasn't impressed due to the supposed "FINAL" rule that Sail adheres to so I emailed customer service. Guess what? Daily emails from Sail with their latest SALES but no reply from customer service. Not really sure what to expect from customer service but some explanation would be nice. Is it even LEGAL to resell a used/returned item without refurbishing or marking the item a returned etc?

Heading up for yearly boys trip on the 24th, BASS not in season so Pike and Wally hunting only. Been going for years and have great success but no musky or even rumors... Pulled out some decent sized fish for sure and the last few years have seen a big hike in baby pike so expecting their numbers to increase. Spend a day trolling on Lake St. Clair to take care of your musky itch!
