  1. If he doesnt spend 8 hours yappin about who sponsors him, saying you have to use this manufactures rod and reel and line and lures, thats worth the wait in gold, and you can tip him, remember you already had to listen to the excuses why he didnt get you on fish the first time, we all come home home and tell our significant others why we did not catch fish, you had to likely hear it from him, and then go home and tell your significant other why you paid 400 bones and still didnt catch fish :whistling: when she has 2000.00 dollars worth of shoes and purses in her closet

Hahah ya. Purses shoes and clothes ... clothes every week it seems

  2. I dunno, he should have got you onto fish ...but sometimes ish just doesn't work out even if you're a seasoned pro on your home lake/river.

Honest, I would say tip him 20% or more if he has a newer rig, and he isn't bitter about the freebie trip. If he's bitter, end the trip early and say thanks.

If you STILL don't get anything, but had fun and it was just bad timing yet again, it's your call. I'd ask to switch target species just to salvage the day, and give him 15%.

    My opinion only, opinions vary.

Actually, sturgeon hook ups aren't really that rare in the Eastern Basin of Erie at all. The issue is, because 95% of the fishing is bass and walleye on spinning tackle, it's just that...hook ups. A 4 footer will peel you clean in no time.

^correct. Although rare, I would actually believe 10 reported sightings each year for sure .

  4. Anything can happen no matter the boat, float suits and/or whatever safety devices on board. Given Temps and a time of year when 3/4 of people have gone home for the winter, one wrong move and no one hears or sees you. Dead in the water. Nothing new. Sad but if not them there, someone somewhere else.

    Sad but true.

  5. I love the look of the new chevys and fords, but ended up picking the ugliest one out there - ram 1500 ecodiesel because of fuel mileage. Well, that was a mistake ... live and learn I guess. All you people with your sexy trucks

I had a neighbour growing up who was a hardcore molson ex drinker who drove a blue Dodge Ram-he used to scare me with it and peel up and down the street. His name was Chester . Long story short, I had to try one for myself....

  6. I'm sorry to hear about this. I always wear a full floater coat if I go out that time of year, but suppose anything could happen.

That boat looks pretty rickety tho, easy tipper . I would not go out more than 20 feet from shore with that in bad weather ...

    Again my condolences

  7. Let's see... I've torn an ab, my quad, hamstring, etc.... I'm a mess from years of sports

It's never fun but you gotta rest and take care of yourself

Ya but you can regail people with the time you scored 4 touchdowns in one game playing for Polk High ....

  8. Hey

That is a very solid motor. Check for blockages in the pee-hole first. Junk can get caught up and cause issues.

Impellers are not expensive to purchase (think I paid $25 for a 60hp Nissan) and should be changed every so often depending on environment etc. It's not a difficult task either if you decide to do it yourself.

You have a nice motor there, don't feel soured just yet...

Also 4-5 seconds might not be enough for the water to travel in and out of the telltale ...so maybe there is some switch or cut-off you need to disengage or adjust once the motor is turned over..

The main reason for going to the Sportsman show is planning and researching the next fishing adventure. We have booked a June 2017 fly in with Lac Natakim- Moselle outfitters in Quebec and they will be at the show. Also we are planning a fly in out of White River, Ontario to Lake Kabinakagami with meal plan. There will be 3 Outfitters from Kaby at the show all with the same services but with quite a difference in price, one offers a seniors discount in August. Personal contact with outfitters helps in the selection process plus the planning is half the enjoyment. Fifty years ago at the Canadian National Exhibition in Toronto I discovered eating French Fries with vinegar was better than ketchup and never looked back, looking forward to refreshing that memory.

Sportsman show is garbage in general, but I do agree with a post above about it being better last year. If I was planning a fishing trip I could see it being fun checking out all the booths, I'll give you that

And fries are better with both ketchup and vinegar (well not McDonald's fries tho)

    Enjoy your time
